Submit to Wired Business

Wired Business Closed Its Free Badge Route. Its $29 Buys One Listing. Ours Buys Thirty.

Written by Submitator, which sells a competing directory-submission service. We used to file customers on Wired Business's free badge route until it closed free submissions (our founder, 11 October 2026). The footnote under the table says where every figure below was read.

Wired Business no longer takes free submissions. Its badge route, a listing in return for their badge or a plain link on your homepage or footer, is gone from the site: the wizard that ran through a Badge step in September now runs through a Payment step, and /submit shows one card, WIRED.BUSINESS SUBMISSION at $29. That buys one listing. Our Starter plan costs that same $29 and buys thirty directories.

The listing holds up. Ahrefs rates the domain DR 78, the number their page prints, and every one of the 2,345 live listings links its site with a followed link. The copy around it does not. The wizard still sells the $29 as "no badge required, listed faster" against a route that no longer exists. An unlinked /pricing page still shows a Free card whose Continue button opens the same paid wizard. And the card sells "Priority placement in the directory" without saying for how long.

The Wired Business submit page: the heading Submit your Website, the line Get a permanent DR 78 dofollow backlink to boost your SEO, a pill reading 2,300+ websites already listed and one card, WIRED.BUSINESS SUBMISSION at $29, with a Start Submission button above four lines: Live in minutes, instant publish, no review wait; Get a DR 78 dofollow link to boost your SEO; No backlink to our site required, your link is permanent; Priority placement in the directory
One card, $29, on wired.business/submit, 11 October 2026.
The $29 card, line by line, as served on 11 October 2026
Their lineWhat their pages and the directory show
“$29”One listing, on the only card /submit offers
“Live in minutes”, “instant publish, no review wait”Their FAQ: published “As soon as your payment is confirmed”, after a check at step one
“Get a DR 78 dofollow link to boost your SEO”Holds: DR 78 on Ahrefs, two followed links on every Pro listing
“No backlink to our site required”True, and the free route that required one is gone
“Priority placement in the directory”133 of 133 featured slots are Pro; 26 older Pro listings sit below non-Pro ones
No badge required, compared with nothing

The wizard still opens the $29 with "Featured submission — one payment, no badge required, listed faster." Faster than the badge route, and badge-free next to it. That route is gone, and the address that served it in September now serves this wizard. With nothing left on the other side of the comparison, the sentence is down to its first promise: one payment, $29, for one listing.

The live site was read from wired.business on 11 October 2026 between 13:53 and 14:36 UTC, with GET requests only: the home page, /submit, /pricing, the submission wizard, /thank-you, /categories, robots.txt, the sitemap, /terms.php, /privacy.php, a sweep of about 140 addresses, all 134 category pages and every listing page. Nothing was submitted, no wizard step was sent and no checkout was opened, so steps 2 to 5 of the wizard, the payment page, the confirmation email, the edit link and whether the discount code printed on /pricing applies at checkout are not verified. History comes from Internet Archive captures of /submit (13 December 2025, 18 February, 12 April, 9 June and 10 August 2026), /submit-your-website (the one-page free form on 12 April 2026 and the wizard on 5 September 2026), the badge page (27 September 2026) and /terms and /privacy (7 September to 7 October 2026). The free route: the wizard at /submit-your-website, with no query, with ?plan=paid and with ?plan=free, serves a hidden plan field set to paid and a step bar ending in Payment and Live, in the raw HTML and in a rendered browser, where the 5 September 2026 capture of the same address served the field set to free and a Badge step; /badge returns 404 in every variant tried. The last capture of the free wizard is from 5 September 2026 and the badge page was captured live on 27 September 2026; no capture of the submit pages exists between then and 11 October 2026. /pricing appears in no sitemap and is linked from none of the 2,487 pages saved from the site; its Free card's Continue button opens the same paid wizard. The footer links to /terms, /privacy and /badge return 404; the terms and privacy documents, marked Effective August 2026, answer at /terms.php and /privacy.php and match the archived /terms and /privacy word for word. Refund wording appears in terms.php and not on /submit, /pricing, /thank-you, step one of the wizard or either FAQ; steps 2 to 5 were not opened. The listing census follows every listing link on the 134 category pages: 2,346 addresses, matching the sum of the 111 category counters, fetched in one pass; 2,345 resolve and one card whose address contains a # returns 404. Product links were read two ways per page, which agreed on 2,346 of 2,346, and in a rendered browser on 28 evenly spaced pages, 28 of 28; rel was tested for nofollow, sponsored and ugc. 187 listings carry the Pro mark, 2,141 Verified and 18 neither; the site defines neither mark. All 2,345 live listings carry at least one product link with no rel. Of 4,871 product links, 4,686 carry no rel and 185 carry nofollow sponsored, namely the button inside the AI write-up, under its first paragraph, that 185 of the 187 Pro listings have, while the Visit Website button below the write-up carries no rel. By mark, every Pro listing carries two product links with no rel, its name and Visit Website, plus the sponsored button on 185; every Verified listing carries two, both with no rel (2,141 of 2,141); of the 17 live listings with neither mark, 13 carry two and 4 only the name link. No product link carries ugc, all point straight at the listed site and no listing page carries a robots meta tag or an X-Robots-Tag header; three listings fetched as Googlebot were byte-identical to the ordinary fetch. Placement was read from the home page and every category page the same day: the home page's Featured row (4, dated 5 to 13 December 2025, the same on five loads) and Recent Listings (24, dated 2 September to 11 October 2026) are all Pro, and 133 of 133 featured slots in 56 categories hold Pro listings. Of the 54 Pro listings without a slot, 28, all dated 29 April 2026 or later, sit above every non-Pro listing in their category, and 26, dated 13 April 2026 or earlier with one undated, sit below at least one, 18 of them on page 2 or later; positions count each category's list below its featured block. That is one snapshot: the site documents no duration for priority placement, and the archived Pro cards of December 2025 and February, April, June and August 2026 do not mention it, though the structured data on the August 2026 page does. /pricing prints "231 site owners chose Pro"; 187 listings carry the Pro mark on the home and category pages, and the two could not be reconciled: a listing linked from no category page cannot be seen, since no listing sitemap exists. Prices: the /submit card and its structured data say $29 (29.00 USD); /pricing also advertises a 30% checkout code, untested. Screenshots: /submit, the wizard and a Pro listing as they stood on 11 October 2026; the earlier wizard as captured by the Internet Archive on 5 September 2026. Domain Rating 78 is Ahrefs' figure via submitator.com/domain-rating-checker on 11 October 2026; their pages print the same number. We allege no penalty against Wired Business. Submitator does not file customers to Wired Business. Our plans are $29 for 30 directories (Starter), $49 for 60 (Growth) and $79 for 100 (Scale), paid once and picked one by one in the dashboard; our terms aim at 2 to 3 days for a package and commit to 21 days at most, a rejection is replaced by one extra directory of your choosing and refunds apply to directories not delivered within our committed ETA, as our terms lay down.

The badge route was the free one, and it is gone

For most of its life as a directory, Wired Business sold two cards side by side. In December 2025 its submit page offered Free at $0, "Reviewed and listed within 72 hours", on one condition: "A backlink to our site is required (on your homepage or footer)". Beside it sat Pro at $29. By April the free form asked you to tick a box: "I understand that I need to add the badge or a link to 'https://wired.business' on my website's homepage or footer, otherwise my submission will not be published."

On 5 September 2026 the wizard at /submit-your-website still opened with "Free submission — add the Wired Business badge to your site and get listed." Its fourth step was Badge. Their badge page was still up on 27 September. On 11 October the same address opens the paid wizard, whose fifth step is Payment, and /badge returns 404. Every way into the wizard now leads to the same place.

The Wired Business submission wizard as captured by the Internet Archive on 5 September 2026: a step bar of five, Website, Screenshot, Review, Badge and Live, the heading Submit your Website, the line Free submission, add the Wired Business badge to your site and get listed, a field for your website’s URL and a green Continue button
Archived by the Internet Archive on 5 September 2026: Free submission, five steps, the fourth one Badge.
The same wizard on 11 October 2026: a step bar of six, Website, Screenshot, Review, Description, Payment and Live, the heading Submit your Website, the line Featured submission, one payment, no badge required, listed faster, the same URL field and the same Continue button
The same address on 11 October 2026: Featured submission, six steps, the fifth one Payment.

One unlinked page still advertises the free route

A page at /pricing, linked from nowhere on the site and left out of the sitemap, still says "Free with a badge, or go Pro and get listed instantly." and still shows a Free card at $0. Press its Continue button and you land in the same paid wizard as everyone else.

The refund rule sits behind a dead footer link

Their terms carry one refund rule: "A paid listing can be refunded if it has not gone live yet. Once a listing is live, the purchase is final and non-refundable." Neither /submit nor /pricing says a word about refunds, in its card copy or in its FAQ.

The terms do exist, at /terms.php, beside a privacy policy at /privacy.php, both effective August 2026. You will not reach either from the footer: every page links The Badge, Privacy and Terms, and all three return 404.

Priority placement, measured

The last line on the card is "Priority placement in the directory", and for a recent buyer it is real. The home page's Recent Listings row holds 24, every one of them Pro; its Featured row holds four more, all Pro listings from December 2025. On the category pages all 133 featured slots hold Pro listings, and every Pro listing dated from 29 April 2026 on sits above every listing without the Pro mark in its category.

What the card does not print is a duration. 26 older Pro listings sit below listings without the Pro mark today, 18 of them on page 2 or deeper, down to 334th of 350 in Artificial Intelligence and 203rd of 209 in Directories.

What holds: DR 78 and a followed link

None of this touches the link, and the link is the part they get right. Ahrefs puts wired.business at DR 78, the same number their page prints. Every one of the 2,345 live listings links its site with at least one followed link, straight to the site's own domain, and not one listing page is closed to search engines. Their "2,300+ websites already listed" checks out.

A Pro listing links your site three times. Your name heads the page as a link to your site, a long AI-written article follows and a Visit Website button sits at the foot. The heading and that button carry no rel attribute; the button inside the article is marked nofollow sponsored. A listing marked Verified links its site twice, both followed, so next to a Verified listing the one link the $29 adds is the sponsored one.

A Pro listing on Wired Business, DocuWriter.ai: a breadcrumb reading Home, Artificial Intelligence, DocuWriter.ai, the name as a large green heading beside a Pro chip with a crown, the tagline AI code documentation for any codebase, a screenshot of the product’s home page, the first paragraph of an AI-written article and a purple Visit DocuWriter.ai button
A Pro listing: the green name and the Visit Website button at the foot of the listing link to the product with no rel; the Visit DocuWriter.ai button shown here, inside the write-up, is nofollow sponsored.

The same $29, one listing or thirty directories

With the badge route gone, the way onto Wired Business is the $29 card, and our Starter plan costs $29 too. The prices match to the dollar, so the argument is the unit. Their $29 is a single listing on a single site. Ours goes to thirty directories. You see the Domain Rating of each in the dashboard before choosing, and nothing is filed until you do. Every directory you choose gets a description written for it alone.

If a directory you pick wants its badge on your site, we install that badge and keep it live. Nine of the thirty charge extra for their better listing, and that tier comes with the plan every time: the savings page lists each one at its price, over $140 in all.

How to submit to Wired Business, step by step

  1. 1

Open /submit and press Start Submission

It is the only card on the page: WIRED.BUSINESS SUBMISSION, $29. The button opens a wizard of six steps, Website, Screenshot, Review, Description, Payment and Live.

  2. 2

    Give it your website's URL

The first step analyses the site, writes an AI description and takes a screenshot. It can turn the address down before you pay, with the reason on screen.

  3. 3

    Pay at step five

Stripe takes the payment as merchant of record, with taxes included in the price. By their FAQ, the listing is published as soon as the payment is confirmed.

  4. 4

    Find the refund rule yourself

Their terms refund a listing only while it has not gone live. Nothing on /submit or in its FAQ says so and the footer's Terms link returns 404, so read the rule at /terms.php before you pay.

  5. 5

Or put the $29 into thirty

Starter is $29 once for thirty directories, each shown with its Domain Rating before you pick, each with its own description and a rejection swapped for another directory.

Their $29: one listing. Our $29: thirty directories.

One payment, every directory named in your dashboard with its Domain Rating on the card, text written for each one and the ones you tick filed for you.

Start — from $29

Wired Business review: is the $29 worth it?

When a followed link on a DR 78 domain is the whole point, the $29 buys exactly that, and a recent Pro listing sits above every listing without the Pro mark in its category. As a listing, it is sound.

What the $29 no longer has is the comparison its own copy keeps making. The wizard's "no badge required, listed faster" was an argument while free was the other option. Free is gone, so the $29 now stands against what else $29 buys, and here that is thirty directories.

The short version

Same $29. One listing, or thirty directories.

Wired Business has closed its free badge route, so the way in is one card, WIRED.BUSINESS SUBMISSION at $29, for one listing. The listing is sound: DR 78, a followed link on all 2,345 live listings and the top of the list for recent buyers. The copy around it still sells against the closed route, and the footer link to the terms that hold their refund rule returns 404. Our $29 covers thirty directories, each one your pick. The whole catalog.

FAQ

How do I submit to Wired Business?

Open wired.business/submit and press Start Submission on the only card there, WIRED.BUSINESS SUBMISSION at $29. The wizard runs six steps: Website, Screenshot, Review, Description, Payment and Live. The first one analyses your site, writes an AI description and takes a screenshot, and it can turn the address down before you pay. There is no free way in any more: the Badge step the wizard had in September is gone.

How much does Wired Business cost?

$29, one payment, for one listing. That is the price on the only card at /submit, paid through Stripe as merchant of record with taxes included.

Is Wired Business free?

Not any more. As late as September 2026 a site could be listed for $0 by putting the Wired Business badge, or a link to wired.business, on its homepage or footer. That route is gone: every way into the wizard now runs through a Payment step, and the badge page returns 404. The unlinked /pricing page still shows a Free card, and its Continue button opens the same paid wizard.

Is the Wired Business link dofollow?

Yes. Every one of the 2,345 live listings links its site with at least one followed link, straight to the site's own domain with nothing in between. A Pro listing, the $29 kind, links you from its name heading and from a Visit Website button at the foot of the page, neither with a rel attribute; the button inside its AI-written article is marked nofollow sponsored. No listing page asks search engines not to index it.

What is Wired Business's Domain Rating?

78 on Ahrefs, through our own checker on 11 October 2026. It is the same figure their submit page prints, and it checks out.

What does Priority placement get you on Wired Business?

The card sells "Priority placement in the directory" without saying for how long. Today all 133 featured slots on the category pages hold Pro listings, the home page's 24 Recent Listings are all Pro and every Pro listing dated from 29 April 2026 on sits above every listing without the Pro mark in its category. 26 older Pro listings sit below such listings, 18 of them on page 2 or deeper.

How fast does Wired Business publish a listing?

The card says "Live in minutes" and "instant publish, no review wait", and their FAQ says the listing is published "As soon as your payment is confirmed", with "no manual review, no waiting". There is a check before you pay: the wizard's first step analyses your site and can turn it down with "We could not accept this website" and a reason.

Can you get a refund from Wired Business?

Only before your listing goes live. Their terms: "A paid listing can be refunded if it has not gone live yet. Once a listing is live, the purchase is final and non-refundable." The rule sits at /terms.php: no line on /submit or /pricing mentions a refund, and the footer's Terms link returns 404.

Is Wired Business worth $29?

As a link, it buys what it promises: a followed link on a DR 78 domain and, for a recent buyer, a place above every listing without the Pro mark in its category. As money, it is $29 for one listing, and with the free badge route closed there is nothing left on their side to set it against. Set it against ours instead: the same $29 covers thirty directories, and you see every Domain Rating before choosing.

Does Submitator submit to Wired Business?

No. For the same $29 our Starter plan submits you to thirty directories rather than one. Every one shows its Domain Rating in your dashboard before you tick it, and we write a description for each. If a directory rejects you, you pick another in its place; our terms aim to have every submission filed in 2 to 3 days, and 21 days is the most they commit to.

Same $29. One listing there, thirty directories here.

One payment. Each directory is named with its Domain Rating on the card before you choose it, badges are installed and kept live where one is wanted and a rejection is swapped for another directory.
