How to Submit to AI Tool Guru, and How to Use the 500 Characters

AI Tool Guru (aitoolguru.com) holds around 4,600 listings and takes submissions at /submit-ai-tool, behind an email login. The form is three fields with hard character caps: 60 for the name, 80 for the website, 500 for the description. Ahrefs rates the domain 30.

This one sits in our own catalog, so what follows is the by-hand version. With only three boxes there is not much to explain about the mechanics, so this page spends its time on the one thing that actually changes the result: the description is used in three overlapping slices, and knowing where the cuts fall decides what anyone ever reads.

Where the description gets cut

Characters 1 to 100 are what shows on the card in the grid. 1 to 160 become the page's meta description, and every listing we measured was truncated there with an ellipsis. 161 to 500 appear only on the listing page itself. Write the first sentence to survive all three cuts.

Per aitoolguru.com/submit-ai-tool, the login and registration pages, listing pages, robots.txt, the sitemap and archived copies from April 2024 and December 2025, read on 13 August 2026. Domain Rating is Ahrefs' figure via submitator.com/domain-rating-checker; no second provider was queried. The three fields and their character caps are as the form renders them behind the account; nothing was submitted during this check. Verified from the public surface: /submit-ai-tool returns a 302 to the login page, with the same behaviour in both archived captures; the login and registration pages offer email and password only, with a Google button present in the markup but commented out, and reCAPTCHA on both; and the contact form their FAQ points at does not exist, that address and six similar ones returning an empty page under a 200 status. The link audit covers 74 listing pages, 44 chosen at random and 30 from the top of the sitemap, each carrying a single outbound anchor labelled Visit with no rel attribute of any kind, no meta robots and no X-Robots-Tag; 44 of 44 were exactly self-canonical, robots.txt disallows nothing, three pages under a Googlebot user agent matched a same-agent control, and two archived pairs were unchanged since 2024. The description slicing was measured across 44 listings. The catalog figure has been flat since April 2024. Nothing on the site states a price for submitting, and it does not describe submission as free either. Submitator submits here as part of its catalog: $29 for 30 directories, $49 for 60 and $79 for 100, one-time, chosen by you in the dashboard with DR shown, badges installed and kept live, a live link per completed listing, rejections credited back as +1 directory and a 30-day refund policy on the conditions in our terms.

How to submit to AI Tool Guru, step by step

  1. 1

Make an account with an email address

There is no social login here, so an email and a password is the route, and both pages run reCAPTCHA. If you keep a shared address for directory accounts, this is one where that works, unlike the sites that force you through a personal Google or GitHub account.

  2. 2

Draft the first sentence to survive three cuts

Roughly the first 100 characters land on the card, the first 160 become the meta description, and the rest is page-only. One sentence that says what the tool is and who it is for, written to make sense on its own, does all three jobs at once.

  3. 3

Keep the name short enough to stay visible

The cap is 60 characters, but the page title is assembled around it in a fixed pattern, so a name of about 25 to 30 characters keeps the whole title readable in search results. The bare product name is what you want, without a tagline attached.

  4. 4

Paste the root URL with https:// on the front

The cap is 80 characters, which is comfortable for a homepage and tight for a deep link, so give the root. Include the scheme: one listing on the site has an address saved without it and the link goes nowhere. Strip any campaign parameters while you are there.

  5. 5

Fill the rest of the 500 for the page

Anything past about 160 characters exists for the person already reading your listing, and it is shown in full there. Use it for what the tool actually does rather than repeating the opening line.

Getting in, and the one dead end

The submission page is linked from the navigation and the footer of every page and appears in the sitemap, so it is easy to find. Requesting it while signed out produces a 302 to the login, and archived copies from April 2024 and December 2025 behave the same way, so this is how the site has always worked rather than something recently locked down.

The account itself is refreshingly ordinary: an email address and a password, with reCAPTCHA on both the login and registration pages. There is no Google or GitHub option, and a Google button does exist in the markup but is commented out. That is worth mentioning because several directories in this bracket accept nothing but a social account, which is awkward if you keep work logins separate.

One dead end to save you the detour. Their FAQ suggests a contact form as another way to reach them, and that page is not there: the address returns an empty page under a 200 status, as do six similar paths we tried. If you need to reach a human, the contact form is not the way.

The three caps, and what to do with them

The form is a name capped at 60 characters, a website capped at 80 and a description capped at 500, each with a live counter. Nothing else is gathered at all, and nothing is uploaded: the whole submission is three pieces of text.

The 60 for the name is more than you need, and using it all would be a mistake. Their page titles are built to a fixed pattern with your name at the front, so a name of around 25 to 30 characters keeps the whole title legible where it counts. Give the product name on its own; the tagline belongs in the description.

The 80 for the website is the tighter one. It is fine for a homepage and awkward for a deep link, which is a reason to give the root address anyway. The detail worth repeating is the scheme: we found a listing whose stored address omits the https://, and its link does not leave the site at all. It costs nothing to type and it is the one field where a small mistake wastes the entire submission.

Why the description is really three descriptions

This is the part that repays a few minutes. Measuring across 44 published listings, the same stored description is used at three different lengths. The card in the listing grid shows roughly the first hundred characters. The page's meta description takes the first 160, and every one of the 44 was cut there with an ellipsis. The remainder, from about 161 up to the 500 limit, appears only on the listing page, where it is rendered in full.

So the sensible shape is a first sentence that stands completely on its own, since it is doing duty as your card blurb and as your search snippet at the same time. A second sentence that finishes the thought before 160. And then whatever else is genuinely useful, written for someone who is already on the page rather than for a crawler. Opening with your product name and a colon, or with a marketing flourish that only makes sense next to a logo, wastes the slot that does the most work.

What the listing is like

Every tool sits on its own page with one outbound anchor on it, labelled Visit. On the listings already published, that anchor has no rel attribute at all: we parsed 74 pages, 44 at random and 30 from the top of the sitemap, and found no nofollow, no sponsored and no ugc among them, and none simply missing an attribute the others had. Around it the hygiene holds up: no robots meta anywhere, no X-Robots-Tag, an exact self-canonical on all 44 checked, and a robots.txt that disallows nothing. Two archived pairs are unchanged since 2024.

Two honest qualifications on that. It reads the entries that exist; it forecasts nothing about one you have yet to send. And their FAQ is careful about outcomes in its own words, saying only that a submission will be considered for inclusion, so publication is not something anyone should treat as automatic. No turnaround is published anywhere, no price for submitting appears anywhere either, and the site does not call submitting free, so we will not put words in its mouth in either direction.

One number for context rather than commentary: the catalog has stood at about 4,600 listings since April 2024.

One sentence, thirty directories.

That first line gets rewritten to a different cap on every site you submit to. Write it once properly and let the rest be somebody else's problem.

Start — from $29

Worth doing?

Yes. It is a short form once you are through the door, the account is an ordinary email one rather than a social login, and on the entries already published the outbound link carries no rel attribute and the pages are cleanly indexable. For a few minutes of work that is a reasonable trade.

Go in knowing that nothing is published about timing or approval, and that their own wording is that submissions are considered rather than accepted. Spend the effort on the first sentence, get the https:// right, and move on.

The short version

Three fields. The first sentence does the work.

Email login, then a name capped at 60, a website at 80 and a description at 500. The first 100 characters are your card, the first 160 are your search snippet, the rest is page-only. Type the https:// yourself. On the listings already up, the outbound link carries no rel attribute at all. See which sites we cover.

FAQ

Where is the AI Tool Guru submission form?

At aitoolguru.com/submit-ai-tool, which is linked from the navigation and the footer on every page and sits in their sitemap. Requesting it without an account returns a 302 straight to their login page, and archived copies show the same behaviour going back to April 2024, so the login has always been the gate rather than something recently added.

How do you create an AI Tool Guru account?

With an email address and a password, and that is the only route. There is no Google, GitHub, magic-link or single sign-on option rendered on either page, though a Google sign-in button does exist in the markup commented out. Both the login and registration pages run reCAPTCHA. Their FAQ points at a contact form as an alternative way to get in touch, but that page does not exist: the address returns an empty page under a 200 status, as do six similar paths we tried.

What does the AI Tool Guru form ask for?

Three fields, each with a visible character counter: Tool Name capped at 60, Website capped at 80, and Description capped at 500. No category, no logo, no pricing label, no screenshot: those are simply not collected. Everything is typed, so there is nothing to prepare as a file.

How should you use the 500-character description on AI Tool Guru?

In three layers, because that is how the site slices it. The first 100 characters or so are what appears on the card in the listing grid. The first 160 become the page's meta description, and every one of the 44 listings we measured was cut there with an ellipsis. Everything from about 161 to 500 appears only on the listing page itself, where it is shown in full. So the opening sentence does three jobs, the second does two, and the rest is for the reader who has already clicked.

What should you put in the website field on AI Tool Guru?

Your root homepage, with the https:// typed in, and nothing appended. The scheme matters more than usual here: one listing we found has an address saved without it, and the resulting link does not leave their site at all. The 80-character cap is generous for a homepage but tight for a deep URL, which is another reason to give the root. None of the 44 listings we sampled carried a tracking parameter, so strip any campaign tags before pasting.

Are AI Tool Guru links dofollow?

On the listings already published, the link carries no rel attribute at all. We parsed 74 pages, 44 picked at random and 30 from the top of the sitemap, and found no nofollow, no sponsored and no ugc among them, with none simply missing where others had one. Each listing carries a single outbound anchor labelled Visit. Indexability is clean: nothing sets a robots meta, no X-Robots-Tag is sent, every one we checked is exactly self-canonical, robots.txt disallows nothing, and two archived pairs are unchanged since 2024. Take that as a reading of the published set, not a forecast for an entry nobody has made yet.

Does Submitator submit to AI Tool Guru?

Yes, it is in our catalog. An account, then a form, then the same again on the next site and the twenty-eight after that: the run is the job, and it is the part we take. Our entry plan runs $29 for thirty sites, chosen off a named list with the ratings showing.
