How to Submit to Similar Labs Now That It Costs $9.99

Similar Labs was in Submitator's catalog until 23 October 2026, when we took it out of the set we submit to because its free routes had closed. The listing described below is one you buy yourself. The counts and the live quotes on this page are from that day.

Similar Labs (similarlabs.com, styled SimilarLabs by its maker) is a directory of AI products that publishes every listing in six languages. Its product index reads 4,061 tools across twelve AI categories, and its Domain Rating is 71 on Ahrefs, read through our checker; the submit page advertises a “DR 70 platform”.

Since early October 2026 every way in is paid. The submit page prints $9.99 beside its Submit Now button, and its FAQ settles the free question in a line: “No. New product submissions require payment before analysis.” Until then the same page offered a free route through an X post and another through a badge, with $9.99 as the fast lane.

What the $9.99 buys is a clean link. Every listing page has a Visit Website button pointing straight at your homepage, and on a paid listing that button is followed on all six language versions of the page, each set to index, follow. No badge, no X post, nothing to keep on your site. Their FAQ says so itself: “Published paid listings include links in all six languages.”

Submitator math

$9.99 at Similar Labs lists one product on one directory. $29 is Submitator's whole Starter plan: 30 directories you pick from the catalog with each one's DR on screen, badges installed and kept live through one component, a description written for every directory. That is $0.97 a directory, so one $9.99 listing costs about 10 times as much per door.

Domain Rating by Ahrefs

Per similarlabs.com, read on 23 October 2026: /submit (price, flow, FAQ and counters), /advertise, /about, /products (4,061 tools and the twelve category counts; sitemap.xml lists 4,047 product pages), /launches with its daily archive for 1 to 22 October and the Terms of Service at /blog/terms-of-service (effective 25 February 2026). /pricing returns 404. The three-route menu is quoted from the Wayback Machine's capture of /submit on 5 September 2026, which priced Paid Submission at $9.99 as well. The site's code still ships the old Free, Backlink Submission and Fast-Track cards, and one fast-track label in it reads '$9.9'; the live page prints $9.99. The Domain Rating of 71 is Ahrefs', read on 22 October 2026; the submit page prints 70. The 24-hour review time is their own figure. Writing this page involved no submission and no payment.

Three routes in September, one now

A capture of the submit page from 5 September 2026 shows the menu the older listings came through. “Verify with an X post” was free and carried no followed link. “Backlink Submission” was free with a condition and a reward, “SimilarLabs badge required on your homepage”, then “Receive 1 dofollow backlink after approval”. Paid Submission cost $9.99, with “No badge required, skip verification” and “Get at least 6 dofollow backlinks”. Their FAQ that day summed it up: “Free Submission includes no dofollow backlink. Backlink Submission includes 1 after approval, while Paid Submission includes at least 6.”

The two free routes are gone and the price of the third has not moved: $9.99 in September, $9.99 on 23 October. Their About page still explains the old split, “Free submission provides a basic product listing and does not include dofollow link benefits”, but a new product has no free submission left to make.

What 77 live listings show

The old menu is still readable in the listings it produced. Across 77 listings, 378 pages in all once each language version is counted, the Visit Website button falls into exactly three patterns, and they line up with the three routes.

The Visit Website link on 77 listings

PatternListingsVisit Website linkLaunched
Paid28Followed on all six language pages12 May to 21 October
Badge27Followed in English, nofollow in the other five12 September to 7 October
Free22Nofollow29 September to 19 October
Since 8 October1817 paid pattern, 1 nofollow8 to 21 October

Census of 23 October 2026. Listings read: the 18 the daily launch archive shows for 8 to 22 October (nothing launched on 11, 12, 14, 18 or 22 October), the 36 it shows for 1 to 7 October, the 12 in the submit page's Recently Submitted strip and the 12 in the site-wide Featured list, 77 distinct listings in all. Each was read in English and Chinese, and the 55 whose English link is followed also in Portuguese, Spanish, German and French, plus one nofollow listing in all six: 378 pages. On every page the product's link was matched by its exact host. Each page carries one Visit Website button, pointing at the address the maker entered (74 plain, three with the maker's own utm or ref parameter); five listings also carry links inside their description, every one of them rel='noopener noreferrer nofollow' with ?refer=similarlabs_ appended. Every page carries meta robots 'index, follow' and names itself as canonical, and every listing sits in sitemap.xml with all six languages as alternates. Two listings fetched again with a Googlebot user agent returned the same rel. The 28 paid-pattern listings carry rel='noopener noreferrer' on all six pages; the 27 badge-pattern listings carry it in English and rel='noopener noreferrer nofollow' in the five other languages; the 22 nofollow listings carry rel='noopener noreferrer nofollow' in English and Chinese. Of the 27 badge-pattern sites, 20 show the SimilarLabs badge in their home page HTML and one more after rendering in a browser; the other six show none either way, and all 27 English links were still followed. None of the 28 paid-pattern home pages carries the badge in its HTML. The one nofollow listing since 8 October is a free open-source bookmark manager hosted on github.io. The Wayback Machine holds no capture of /submit between 5 September and 23 October 2026, so 'early October' for the end of the free routes is read from the listings: the last badge-pattern listing launched on 7 October, and 17 of the 18 that launched after it carry the paid pattern. Of those 18, 11 carry a sectioned write-up opening on Core Capabilities, with an audience and a workflow section in all 11, a pricing section in 10 and a limitations section in 9 (headed Limitations, Known Limitations, Supported Limitations and similar); the other seven carry a shorter overview. 'Paid', 'Badge' and 'Free' name the route each pattern matches on the 5 September menu; Similar Labs does not label listings by route.

Since 8 October the launch archive shows 18 new listings, and 17 of them carry the six-language link. The odd one out, a free open-source bookmark manager, is nofollow on every page. In the first week of October, before the gate, 36 listings launched and 1 of them followed the paid pattern.

Every page in the set asks to be indexed and followed, names itself as canonical and sits in the sitemap with all six languages listed as alternates. A Googlebot fetch returns the same links. On links, a listing bought for $9.99 delivers what the old Paid Submission card promised.

Six followed links, one referring domain

Six followed links read like six backlinks, and in a backlink report they are: one per language page. Domain Rating counts referring domains rather than links, so for your DR the six pages add up to one domain linking to you, a DR 71 one. That is a good link to have.

It is also why breadth is the other half of the job. 30 directories are 30 different domains, each deciding on its own to link you.

Two details for your analytics. The button links your homepage exactly as you entered it and carries noreferrer, so the browser sends no referrer and its clicks land in your analytics as direct traffic. Enter the URL with your own utm parameters, as a few makers do, and they arrive labelled. The links their write-up places inside your description carry ?refer=similarlabs_ plus the category and your slug, and those are nofollow.

Their $9.99: one listing. Our $29: 30 directories.

Pick your 30 from the catalog with each directory's DR on screen, badges installed and kept live by one component, a description written for each directory, most delivered in 24 to 48 hours and every directory within 21 days at most. $29 one-time.

How to submit to Similar Labs, step by step

  1. 1

    Search for your product first

A homepage already in the directory is refused: “A product with this website URL already exists.” If you listed during the free days, that listing is the one you have.

  2. 2

    Get your homepage ready

The listing is drafted from your site, so your homepage and pricing page should state features, audience, prices and limits in plain words first. The next section covers what they read.

  3. 3

Enter your URL and pay $9.99

The form at similarlabs.com/submit asks one thing, “What's your product URL?”, then takes the payment. The draft is kept: “Your paid draft is saved. You can return to My Products to continue without paying again.”

  4. 4

    Run the analysis, then edit

Their AI drafts the listing from your site; if the analysis stalls, “Fill in manually” is the fallback. Check the category (one of twelve) and the pricing tag (Free, Freemium or Paid) against your own pricing page, then press Submit.

  5. 5

    Wait for the review

The submit page promises “Reviewed within 24h”. A rejection comes with reasons and, per their FAQ, a full refund on a paid submission.

  6. 6

Press the button in two languages

Open your English page and one other version (the same address with /zh/, /de/ and so on before /p/) and press Visit Website on both. Each should open your homepage.

Your homepage is the form

A form with one field moves the work upstream rather than removing it. There is no description box to fill on the way in: their analysis reads your site and drafts the listing from it. On most recent listings that draft is a long write-up in sections, opening on Core Capabilities and going on to workflows, the intended audience, pricing and, usually, known limitations. Their About page says what they check: “We look at the official site, public features, use cases, and pricing instead of simply repeating marketing claims.”

So say on your own pages what you want the listing to say. Name the features, the people the product is for and the workflow it fits. Put real prices on a pricing page the analysis can reach, because the pricing tag sits on every card. Spell out your limits too, since most of these write-ups carry a limitations section and it is better written from your facts. An hour on that copy pays off again on every other directory that drafts its listing from your homepage.

Pick the category with the reader in mind. AI Writing holds 921 tools and AI Productivity 888, against 88 in AI Agents and 106 in AI DevTools, and the category page is where your card competes. Their About page adds that “AI applications are preferred”, though tools without AI are listed as well.

If you came in through the badge

The badge route asked you to “keep it in place”, in the words of its old FAQ, and its listings still carry their followed English link. Of the 27 in the census, 21 sites still show the badge and 6 no longer do. A badge is a snippet in your template, and a redesign can drop it without anyone noticing.

Keeping that kind of snippet alive is the job our component does on the directories we submit to. It goes on your site once, carries every badge a directory asks for and keeps each one live, with no commit per directory.

Promotion is a separate purchase

Their /advertise page sells ten numbered side slots on the marketing pages, five on each side of the content on wide screens: $29.99 for 30 days, $39.99 for 60 and $49.99 for 90. “Promotion includes product submission”, so a slot also creates the listing. The fine print is fair. On placement: “Paid placement does not alter organic product lists or the homepage marquee.” On refunds: “We offer a full refund within 48 hours of purchase if the promotion hasn't started.”

Hall of Fame does not come with the listing: “Hall of Fame placement is earned through votes, not included automatically with submission.” New listings also surface in the homepage launch feed and the daily, weekly and monthly launch lists, and with no more than three launches a day since 8 October, a new listing has little company there.

$9.99 for one, or $29 for 30

For one AI directory, $9.99 is an honest price: a DR 71 domain, six indexable pages, a followed button on each and no badge to maintain. It is still one directory. Submitator's $29 plan files you to 30 you pick from our catalog, each with its DR on screen before you choose, with badges installed and kept live through one component, a description written for each directory to its own length rules, most directories delivered in 24 to 48 hours and every directory within 21 days at most. A rejection adds one more directory to your selection, and a refund can be requested within 30 days of purchase.

Similar Labs is not among them now. The AI directories we do submit to, nearest in DR, are listed under the FAQ, and the full list of AI tool directories prints every one with its link type and badge rule.

Submitator does not submit to Similar Labs now; the 30 are other directories from our catalog, and no claim is made that they match Similar Labs. Similar Labs figures are from similarlabs.com/submit on 23 October 2026. Our plans are one-time payments, $29 for 30, $49 for 60 and $79 for 100 directories; most directories are delivered in 24 to 48 hours and every directory within 21 days at most, a rejected submission adds one directory to your selection and a refund can be requested within 30 days of purchase, per our terms. Our founder states that we write a unique description for each directory to its own length rules.

The short version

$9.99 for one listing. $29 for 30 directories.

Similar Labs is a DR 71 AI directory whose free X post and badge routes closed in October 2026. $9.99 buys a listing whose Visit Website button is followed on six language pages, with no badge to keep, and it is one directory. Get your homepage copy right first, because the listing is written from it. Every AI directory.

FAQ

How much does it cost to submit to Similar Labs?

$9.99 per product, paid before their analysis runs. The submit page prints the price beside its Submit Now button and lays out the order as “Create a product draft → Complete secure payment → Analyze, edit, and publish”. Paid Submission already cost $9.99 on 5 September 2026, when two free routes still sat beside it. One payment buys one listing; Submitator's $29 lists you on 30 directories you pick.

Is Similar Labs free to submit to?

Not for a new product. The submit page asks “Is there a free submission option?” and answers “No. New product submissions require payment before analysis.” Until early October 2026 there were two free routes: “Verify with an X post”, which came with no dofollow link, and “Backlink Submission”, which needed their badge on your homepage. Both are gone from the page.

Are Similar Labs links dofollow?

On a paid listing, yes, in every language. Each listing has its own page in English, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, German and French. 17 of the 18 listings launched since 8 October carry a followed Visit Website button on all six, and every page is set to index, follow. Their FAQ: “Published paid listings include links in all six languages.” Listings from the old badge route are followed on the English page only, and the free ones carry nofollow.

Does Similar Labs require a badge?

Not on the route that is left. The badge was the price of the free Backlink Submission, “SimilarLabs badge required on your homepage”, and that route is closed; the paid card read “No badge required, skip verification”. A listing that came in through the badge route was asked to “keep it in place”, and those listings still carry their followed English link.

How long does Similar Labs take to publish a listing?

The submit page promises “Reviewed within 24h”. You pay first and finish the listing after: “After payment, complete the product content and click Submit.” If you close the tab, the draft waits: “Your paid draft is saved. You can return to My Products to continue without paying again.”

What happens if Similar Labs rejects my product?

Their FAQ: “We'll notify you with specific reasons. For paid submissions, you'll receive a full refund if your product doesn't meet our guidelines.” Their Terms of Service put it more cautiously, “Refunds may be issued at our discretion if a submission is rejected”, and add that paid submissions “receive priority review but approval is not guaranteed”.

What does a Similar Labs promotion cost?

$29.99 for 30 days, $39.99 for 60 or $49.99 for 90. Each run reserves one of ten numbered side slots on their marketing pages, and “Promotion includes product submission.” Refunds: “We offer a full refund within 48 hours of purchase if the promotion hasn't started. Once placements are live, promotion fees are non-refundable.”

Does Submitator submit to Similar Labs?

Not now. Similar Labs was in our catalog until 23 October 2026, when we took it out of the set we submit to because its free routes had closed. Submitator's $29 plan files you to 30 other directories you pick, each with its DR on screen, with badges installed and kept live through one component, most directories delivered in 24 to 48 hours and every directory within 21 days at most.
