Free directory submission sites with dofollow: what counts

Free, here, means the directory's own free route as our guide to it reads it, and the Checked column gives the date of that reading. A free listing seldom costs nothing at all, and the price of each kind of free is set out in another post: the answer runs from a badge you keep up to months in a queue. That is why the line between the two tables below matters more than the order inside them.

Dofollow means the link to your site carries no nofollow, ugc or sponsored value, so search engines may pass ranking credit through it; how to read that value on a live listing takes a minute. Each directory here is one we submit to, since none enters our catalog until one of our submissions has run through it end to end.

Free dofollow directories list: 34 that ask for nothing

These take a form (sometimes an account) and give a followed link back with no badge to place, no link to return, no vote to win and no wait counted in months. The strongest rates DR 52, and half of them rate DR 20 or below. DR rates the directory's whole domain, not the link you get, and what a given DR means is a question of its own. The link is the part you keep, and on these directories it is plain. The 758 project pages of sideprojects.net carried 1,516 links to the products they list, every one followed, and Startup Alternatives followed all 3,654 outbound links on its 269 listings.

Free dofollow directories for startups, AI tools and SaaS

For startups, launch boards and startup directories make up 23 of the 70. In the first table they are led by CtrlAlt.CC (DR 52), Viberank (DR 52) and PromoteProject (DR 50); in the second, by Startup Fame (DR 84), Uneed (DR 76) and Show My Sites (DR 71). AI tools have 26 free dofollow directories here, 17 of them asking nothing, and our hub for AI products lists the rest of that group. Free do follow directory submission sites that ask for something

Every directory on this page above DR 52 sits in this table: the strongest free links come with a condition. Of these 36, 27 want something on your site: 20 a badge and 7 a plain link back. Another 8 ask for time instead: a queue of weeks or months, or a listing to renew. StackShare asks for a verified listing. On 5 of them, some badge directories among them, votes decide the followed link: a score on launch day or a place in a daily or weekly ranking.

The badge is the price of free, and the directories collect it. On CurlShip, all 94 free listings whose sites linked back were followed and all 3,356 that did not carried nofollow. Launch Vault followed every free listing with a weekly or daily win (1,159 of 1,159) and none of the 1,056 free listings without one. Uneed prints its rule on the free card: "We assign your launch date, at the back of the line. An upvote score of 10 to stay published, 20 for the do-follow backlink." Under the cards it adds "Do-follow backlink from a 75DR website (guaranteed with Skip the line)", and Skip the line costs $39.99.

How to submit a website to directories for free

Submitting a website to directories for free comes down to the same six moves on almost every row above. The long version, with every field of the listing and its limits, is the submission kit post; these are the moves that decide whether a free route ends in a followed link.

1. Start with the first table. Each of those directories is one form and a followed link, with nothing left to maintain afterwards.
2. Write the listing once: name, tagline, a short description and a long one, logo and screenshots, sized for the strictest form you will meet, then adjust it for each of the others.
3. Read the free terms before you fill in a form: several set a bar of their own. Turbo0's free tier asks for an Ahrefs DR above 10, which our free DR checker reads for you; AI Agents Live takes AI agents and AI platforms; and SubmitMySaas holds a weekly spot for a free launch once its badge is verified.
4. Put each badge where the directory's check can read it: on the page you submit, in the HTML your server sends rather than injected by a script after load. amaze.directory warns that a badge added with JavaScript fails its verification. Then keep it there through every redesign.
5. Write down the day you join each queue. BAI.tools puts its free wait at one to six months and FeaturedTool at 180 days or more, so the listing arrives long after you stopped looking for it. Some skip the wait altogether: the directories that publish without a review queue have a list of their own.
6. When a listing goes live, open it and check the link to your site: the address it points at and the rel it carries. Then make sure Google finds the listing page: the post on getting listings indexed covers how.

Which directories to submit your website to first

The list of directories to submit a website to depends on what the website is. A launch board wants a product with a launch, an AI tool directory wants an AI product and a software catalog wants a product people can sign up for, so start from the Kind column. Within your kind, take the rows that ask nothing before the rows with a condition, and use DR last, to order what is left; the strongest followed directories, free or not, are sorted by DR in a post of their own. Submitting your website to 30 directories: the hours

Each row above is a form, and no two are alike: FiveTaco asks for one URL, Viberank for a sign-in and a tagline of 35 characters, The Hack Stack for 250 words at least. Say each form takes 20 minutes: 30 directories then come to 10 hours of typing. The second table adds work that is not typing: 27 of its directories want a badge or a link back, each one a change to your site that has to ship and then survive every redesign, since the directories check again. And the queues hand you the listing weeks or months later, when somebody still has to open it and read the link.
