Badge-Free Directories: Where You Get Listed With No Badge

Here are the 179 directories we submit to, split by Domain Rating and by what each one asks of your site. No badge is the largest column in every band. The directories that require a badge sit higher as a group, with a median DR of 61 against 32 for the badge-free ones, and the band from DR 50 to 69 holds the densest share of them: 12 of its 39. Below DR 30, not one of the 64 directories requires a badge. Sorted by what a directory lists rather than by its badge rule, the same catalog is in our list by category.

Dofollow directories without a badge

78 directories with no badge required are recorded as dofollow, rated up to DR 81; 21 of them are rated DR 50 or more. The 7 with a no-equity mark beside the DR are those whose guides counted live listings passing nothing, and the guide column links our page on each directory: its form, its price and what its listings link like. Some of them put it in writing. AZN8 (DR 17) says on its form: “We do not ask for a website badge, phone, work-domain email, social handle, or city.” All 121 of its listing pages linked their products with a followed link when its guide read them. Uneed (DR 76) wants no badge whichever way you launch; its free queue shuts when it fills, yet a Submitator customer can always launch there. Viberank (DR 52) shows an optional badge on your app page that displays your position, and nothing in its form or its rules asks you to put it on your site.

No badge directories with a nofollow link

31 directories list you with no badge and record the link as nofollow, rated from DR 2 to DR 82. Nofollow asks search engines to give the link no ranking credit. The listing remains a page describing your product, with a link a reader can click, in front of people who browse directories for tools like yours. 12 of these carry the no-equity mark as well: their guides found the live listings passing nothing. Once a listing is up, checking the rel of a live link takes a minute.

Directories without a badge, link type not on record yet

For 29 badge-free directories the catalog records no link type yet, and this group holds the strongest domains on the whole list: 3 of its rows are rated DR 91. 8 of the 29 have a guide, and the column beside the kind says what that guide read on live pages, from a ugc tag to a redirect to a plain followed link.

No badge on record, a badge on the free route

9 directories record no badge in our catalog and still put one on the free route, in their own pricing or rules. On some the badge decides the link: Launch List lists its free tier with "Dofollow backlink after badge is placed". On others the listing itself waits on a badge, or a plain link back takes its place: DeepLaunch asks free listings to "Add dofollow backlink to our site in your website footer". They stay out of the badge-free tables above and appear here, each with what the badge does on it.

Through Submitator, two of them ask for nothing on your site: we file you on DeepLaunch's Featured plan and on Show My Sites's Premium listing, and both fees sit inside your plan. Directories that don't require a badge, but offer one

10 more directories list you without a badge and make one optional. On the two with the plainest pricing pages, the badge decides the link rather than the listing. Neeed Directory (DR 74) puts it in one line, "Free with our badge on your site, or paid once with no badge.", and CurlShip (DR 49) prints its free tier as "Listed, nofollow. Add the badge to make it dofollow." With nothing on your site these are listings with a nofollow link. Through Submitator the badge sits in our component and stays live, so the followed version is open to you.

Paying to skip a badge

The 22 directories that require a badge often sell a way around it. LemonLaunch (DR 53) is the plainest case: its submit dialog sets a free listing, "Add our badge to your site → dofollow link", beside a paid one named "Dofollow · no badge" at "$9 once", whose benefits include "Nothing to add". At that price, 30 listings would come to $270. DodoDirectory (DR 59) is blunt about the free side, where its card reads "Badge must stay on your site permanently", and its Premium card answers with "No 'Featured on' badge required on your site". No backlink required directories: a badge is a backlink

A directory badge is an image that links back to the directory, so a badge rule is a link-back rule with a picture on top. That makes the three badge-free tables a list of no backlink required directories as well, on our records. A few directories skip the image and ask for the link itself: Show My Sites follows a free listing once your homepage links back, and FeaturedTool's free tier wants a link back you keep up. Both sit in the table of exceptions.

So if you want directories that don't require a backlink of any kind, start with the 138 rows above. Our records hold no link back of any shape for them, which makes them no reciprocal link directories in the plainest sense. Whether a link back is a fair exchange is a question with a post of its own.

Badge-free or not: what a no-badge rule leaves out

A plan with no badge directories in it gives up part of the strong end of the catalog. 22 of the 179 directories we submit to require a badge, with a median DR of 61, and from DR 50 to 69 they make 12 of the 39. The top band is kinder to a badge-free plan: at DR 70 and up, 19 of the 29 need nothing on your site.
