SEOFAI Asks $29 for a Listing on a DR 19 Site. All 54 of Its Sitemaps Return 500.

SEOFAI sells two tiers: $29.00 for a "Lifetime listing on SEOFAI" live within 24 hours, and $69.00 for the same thing plus schema markup, a video embed and two social links. Ahrefs rates the domain 19, the lowest of any paid directory in this series. Our Starter plan is the same $29 and covers thirty directories, so nobody here is undercutting anybody and the whole comparison is what the money turns into.
Then there is the part you can check in a browser tab. Their sitemap index at /sitemap_index.xml answers 200 and lists 54 sitemaps. We fetched nine of them, three seconds apart, spanning posts, pages, tool listings, comparisons, the glossary, categories and courses. Every one returned HTTP 500 with a WordPress critical-error page.
The index resolves fine and lists them all: eleven listing sitemaps, twenty-six glossary sitemaps, posts, pages, comparisons, categories, courses. Request any one and the answer is the same, "There has been a critical error on this website." The thing being sold for $29 is a lifetime listing, and the file that tells search engines where the listings are has been replaced by an error page.

Per seofai.com, its robots.txt, sitemap_index.xml, /submit-ai-tool/, its category pages and the listing pages sampled here, all read on 28 August 2026. Domain Rating is Ahrefs' figure via submitator.com/domain-rating-checker; no second provider was queried. Nothing was submitted, no account was created and no payment was made. /sitemap_index.xml returns 200 and lists 54 child sitemaps: eleven job_listing sitemaps, twenty-six glossary_term sitemaps, plus post, page, tool_comparison, category, job_listing_category, job tag, job and ai-courses sitemaps. Nine of the 54 were re-requested at a three-second interval to rule out rate limiting, one from each content type, and all nine returned HTTP 500 with a WordPress critical-error body; /sitemap.xml itself returns 404. Prices, tier bullets, field labels and FAQ answers are quoted from the served HTML of /submit-ai-tool/, where the strings dofollow, do-follow, follow link, backlink, link juice, SEO value and domain authority all return no match. The catalog figures are their own: the homepage prints "2,164 Tools" and "2,000+ AI tools". Walking their nineteen category pages with pagination reached 657 distinct /tool/ listings, which is a floor rather than a census, because the site rate-limits sustained requests and its sitemaps are unavailable. The link census is a seeded random sample of 80 of those 657, all 80 fetched with zero errors: 78 carry at least one outbound anchor to a domain other than seofai.com and its own social properties, 74 of the 78 carry nofollow on every such anchor, and across the sample 188 of 192 outbound anchors carry nofollow while 4 carry no rel attribute. A rel=canonical and a JSON-LD block were present on 58 of 58 listings in an earlier pass. The two audience figures, 295.7K monthly visits and surpassing 100,000 page views monthly, both appear on the submission page and neither was verified. Check the domain rating before the price
Ahrefs rates seofai.com 19. That is the number that decides what a listing there is worth, and it is lower than every other paid directory we have written up. Nothing else on the submission page changes it, so start there and work back to whether $29 is the right spend.

Have two fields ready, that is genuinely all
Their FAQ says the Basic listing needs "Name of the tool and URL of the tool." The form asks for a tool URL, a name and your email, then offers optional extras: a pricing page URL, a product video, up to two social links and a coupon code. It is the shortest paid submission in this series.

Take Basic unless you specifically want schema
The $40 between the tiers buys two extra days of featuring, a video embed, two social links and schema markup. Their own FAQ describes the schema as "Structured data markup to help search engines better understand your listing." If none of those four is on your list, the $29 tier is the whole product.

Do not buy it as a backlink
Of 80 listings we sampled, 74 of the 78 with an outbound link carry nofollow on every one of them. Their submission page never claims otherwise, so this is not a broken promise. It is simply the wrong purchase if a followed link is what you were shopping for.

Set a reminder to check in 24 hours
Their answer to how you know it went live: "You can verify your submission by searching for your tool's name in the SEOFAI search bar after 24 hours from your submission." No email is promised at that step, so the check is yours to make.

Know the refund covers rejection only
"We offer a full refund if your AI tool does not get published due to our editorial policies." That is a clear rule and it is the right way round. It does not cover a listing that publishes and then underperforms, which given DR 19 is the outcome worth planning for.
Fifty-four sitemaps, all of them 500
This one is easy to reproduce. Open seofai.com/sitemap_index.xml and it answers 200, listing 54 child sitemaps: eleven for the tool listings, twenty-six for the glossary, and one each for posts, pages, comparisons, categories, job tags, courses and the rest.
Click any of them and WordPress answers HTTP 500 with "There has been a critical error on this website." We checked nine, one from every content type, three seconds apart so the result could not be our own rate limiting. Nine out of nine. The plain /sitemap.xml returns 404 on top of that.
We are not going to tell you what that does to indexing, because nobody outside Google can measure it and this page does not guess. What we will say is narrower and enough: the product on sale is a "Lifetime listing", the file whose entire job is to point search engines at those listings is an error page, and it has been that way at least as long as it takes to write this.
DR 19, and what that means next to $29
Ahrefs rates seofai.com 19. For scale, that is below every other paid directory we have audited in this series, and it is the single number that most determines what a listing is worth to you. A page on a DR 19 domain is a page on a small site.
Their own audience numbers do not settle it either, because the submission page carries two of them. The header block reads "295.7K Monthly Visits" with a "3:37 Avg Visit Duration". Scroll down and the same page says the site is "surpassing 100,000 page views monthly". Neither figure carries a source, they are not the same measure, and we did not verify either. They are simply both on the page you would be buying from.
The link is nofollow, and they never said otherwise
We drew 80 listings at random from the 657 we could reach and fetched all 80 without an error. 78 carry an outbound anchor to the tool, and on 74 of those the anchors are nofollow without exception. Across the whole sample, 188 of 192 outbound anchors carry nofollow and four carry no rel at all.
Now the fair part, and it matters. Search their submission page for dofollow, do-follow, backlink, link juice, SEO value or domain authority and there is no match for any of them. They sell exposure, featuring and a profile page. They do not sell a link, so nothing here is a promise broken. It is a gap between what founders usually assume a directory listing is for and what this one actually offers.
Credit on the build, too: every listing we fetched carried a canonical tag and a JSON-LD block, 58 of 58 in the pass where we recorded it.
What $29 and $69 actually separate
Basic at $29.00: "Fast-Track listing within 24 hours", "Featured for 3 days", "Lifetime listing on SEOFAI", and then three crosses against video integration, schema markup and social media links.
Advanced at $69.00: the same, plus two more days of featuring, a "Full tool profile with direct website integration", a YouTube or Vimeo embed, schema markup and up to two social links. Forty dollars for four things, one of which is two extra days on a featured strip. Their own FAQ is the clearest summary of the difference and worth reading before you pick.

Their Starter is our Starter to the dollar. $29 there is one listing on a DR 19 domain, live in a day, nofollow, refunded if it is rejected. $29 here is submissions to thirty directories, each named in your dashboard with its Domain Rating on the card, and you tick the ones you want before anything is filed.
Because the price is identical, none of this is an argument about being cheap. It is an argument about the unit. One page on a small site, or thirty doors you choose from a list you can read first. Nine of those thirty sell paid tiers of their own that the plan absorbs, each named with its price on the savings page, over $140 in total.

SEOFAI review: is the $29 worth it?
If you want a quick profile page and you are spending an exposure budget rather than a link budget, $29 buys a listing in under a day off two fields, and you get the money back if the editors turn you down. That is a clean small transaction and there is nothing hidden in it.
We would not spend it. The domain is rated 19, the outbound links are nofollow on nearly everything we sampled, the page quotes two different audience figures, and the fifty-four sitemaps that are supposed to expose the listings all return 500. None of those is fatal on its own. Together they describe a site that is not currently in a position to do much for a listing.
