Host your screenshot somewhere first
This is the step that stops people mid-form. The heading reads 'Screenshot or Tool usage pictures(only supports png, jpg)' and the field under it is a plain text box with the placeholder 'Screenshot URL'. There is no file picker. Put a png or jpg somewhere with a public address and copy that address.

Read the two rules above the fields
The form carries several blocks of guidance before it asks anything. Two matter: 'Please do not submit crypto-related products.', which appears twice, and 'Note: every tool is manually reviewed. Submitting a tool is not a guarantee that it will be published on the AI Tools Directory website.'

Let the description write itself
Between the URL field and the screenshot one sits the line 'You only need to submit the website link, and everything else will be done by AI.' There is no description box, so the copy on your listing is generated from your site rather than written by you, and you do not get to preview it.

Answer the link-back question either way
'Are you willing to provide a link to our website?' is required and offers Yes or No, with the anchor spelled out as Name: Ai Tools List and Link: https://aiai.tools/. No is selectable, and nothing on the site states what declining does. Then press Submit; a confirmation reading 'Done!' and 'Your Submit is completed.' means it went through.
What the form actually asks
The submission page is a Tally form embedded into an otherwise plain page, and it has been the same form since October 2024. You never make an account and you are never asked for payment. In order, the fields are Your Name, Contact Email Address, Tool Name, Tool URL, the screenshot URL, and the question about linking back. All six carry a required marker.
The screenshot field deserves the warning we gave it above. Everything about the heading suggests an upload, and there is no upload control anywhere in the form. It is a text input expecting an address, so if the image is only on your laptop you will have to stop and go and host it. Their stated formats are png and jpg, though nothing in the field enforces that.
One thing you might expect and will not find is a description box. The form says so: You only need to submit the website link, and everything else will be done by AI. Your listing copy is generated from your site. That makes the submission fast, and it also means the words on your listing are not yours and you cannot see them before they go up, so it is worth making sure your own homepage says clearly what your tool does.
The question about linking back
The last field is Are you willing to provide a link to our website?, with the anchor they would like spelled out underneath: Name: Ai Tools List, Link: https://aiai.tools/. It is required in the sense that you must pick something, and the two options are Yes and No, with No perfectly selectable.
We would like to tell you what answering No costs you, and we cannot, because nothing on the site says. The words backlink, dofollow and nofollow return zero hits across the site and inside the form's own data. We also checked 116 pages for any badge, label or class that would mark out a listing whose submitter agreed to link back, and found none. Whether the answer influences the manual review is behind the form, so anyone who tells you it definitely does, or definitely does not, is guessing.

The other thing to weigh is momentum. The catalog is large, at 9,087 listings, but on a full walk of their own feed we found one listing published in the last six months and two in the last twelve. Their traffic rank sits deep in the millions and the domain dropped off the daily ranking list we checked in late July 2026. There is no newsletter, there are no social profiles and the listings carry no view or vote counters, so there is no audience number to point at in either direction.
Set against that: it costs nothing, it takes five minutes once your screenshot is hosted, the listing is a real page on a DR 40 domain, and free directory listings are worth doing in volume precisely because no single one of them has to carry much.
