The FAQ states it plainly: "Listing a tool costs $9.9, which is a one-time payment. Once paid, your tool will be listed indefinitely." The featured slot gets the same treatment: "Our featured listings are currently priced at $49.9 and are active for a duration of 7 days." Both paid cards carry the line "One-time payment", so recurrence is not something you have to infer from the absence of a renewal button. That is more than several directories in this bracket bother to say.

The price has moved, though not by much. Archived copies of the submit page from March, April, May and September 2024 carry the same FAQ sentence reading $9 rather than $9.9, and the March, April and May captures show the tier cards at $9 and $49. The move happened somewhere in a ninety-day gap in the archive, and the only capture inside that gap is a Cloudflare block page with no content, so no month can be named for it. Probed on 29 July 2026, the live page carries no struck-through anchor price, no countdown, no seats-remaining counter and no discount claim, and none appears in the archived captures we read either. The only persuasive device is a static "POPULAR" badge.

What the fee buys, in their own words

Read the paid card's three feature lines and the answer is unambiguous: "One-time payment", "No queue, listed within 24 hours", "Listing & Traffic forever". The FAQ repeats the delivery half: "Upon successful submission and payment, we will list your tool within 24 hours. You can check the following day to see your tool live on the site." What you are buying is the front of a queue, plus a listing they say stays up indefinitely.

No link is mentioned on that card, and that turns out to be consistent with what the listings do. All 16 tool pages we opened carry the same outbound link, and nothing on any of them marks a listing as paid, so the fee doesn't read as a purchase of link value. It reads as a purchase of time. Whether that is worth $9.9 depends entirely on how long the unpaid queue really is, and that is a number we could not test.

One small oddity worth flagging so it doesn't confuse you at the checkout: the $49.9 card's second line reads "Contains all of Fast Track", and no tier called Fast Track exists on the page. The tiers are named PRO and BUSINESS.

The outbound link is a followed one

This is the part of Aitoolnet that deserves genuine credit, and it is rarer than it should be. On 16 English tool pages sampled across the alphabetical catalog on 29 July 2026, the tool's own "Visit website" button carried no rel attribute whatsoever. The href goes directly to the tool's host with a single ?ref=aitoolnet.com parameter attached, with no redirector in between, and a rendered-DOM check confirmed no script adds a rel after load. Those pages carry no robots meta tag, no X-Robots-Tag header and a self-referencing canonical, so the link sits on a page built to be indexed.

The rest of the link architecture is equally deliberate. On the same pages, the related-tool buttons carry rel='noopener nofollow', the sidebar cards carry rel='nofollow', and the site-wide advertiser slot carries rel='sponsored'. Editorial links open, paid slots marked, neighbors closed. Directories charging several times this much get that ordering backwards, which is what makes it worth naming here. Two things to keep in mind before you count on it: nothing on a listing page identifies it as paid, so we can't report that any of those 16 belonged to a paying submitter, and a rel attribute is a one-line change on their side. Compare it with a $47 listing on TopAI.tools, where the nofollow is the design.

There is a free route, and it isn't on the submit page

Their /finish page carries this: "Link to your website: Submission of Aitoolnet tools are free. As part of our collaboration, we kindly ask for your support in providing a backlink to our website’s homepage or listing page." It supplies a code snippet, asks you to email support@aitoolnet.com with the subject line "Friend link – [Your Website] Listing," and finishes "Our team will review your tool than publish it in less than 24 hours", their typo intact. That is the same 24 hours the $9.9 card sells, though the same page also warns of "a potential waiting period of up to 30 days".

Two honest limits. We found no link from the submit page to /finish, so unless you go looking for it you would have no particular reason to see it. And we did not test the route, so whether an emailed Friend link is answered or honored is not something we can report. If you are willing to put their badge on your site, it is worth trying rather than buying a way past a queue the same page puts at "a potential waiting period of up to 30 days".

What the paperwork says, and where it doesn't match

The refund promise is real and specific: "If your tool isn't approved for any reason, you will receive a full refund of your listing fee. Common reasons for non-approval include the tool not utilizing AI or being already listed." It lives in the submit page's FAQ. The Terms are a different document with a different position: they contain no clause covering the submission fee at all, and their only refund sentences are "These additional advertising services are non-refundable." and one about account sharing ending in termination. Neither page says which governs, and the Terms don't incorporate the FAQ by reference.

The payment platform has the same shape of gap. The form names "PayPro Global" once, as plain text with nothing linked, while the Terms say "All payment processes are handled through a third-party payment processor, such as Stripe." The word PayPro appears nowhere in the Terms, the privacy policy or the about page, and no company name, registration number or address appears on any of those pages either. Their privacy policy is dated after the domain was registered, which is worth saying because the opposite is a common tell and it does not apply here.

Two practical notes for the form itself. There is no terms checkbox anywhere on it, so nothing is put in front of you to accept. And the required-field markers are unreliable: only Name and Website have both an asterisk and a required attribute, Email and Category carry an asterisk without one, and Description and Content are required without an asterisk.

Is a $9.9 Aitoolnet listing worth it?

Yes, on the evidence, and the evidence is unusually good for the money. $9.9 for a permanent listing on a DR 56 directory of 22,090 tools, where the outbound link carried no rel attribute on every page we checked and sits on an indexable page, is a fair trade. Their catalog claim checks out too: the hero says 22,091 tools and an independent count of their sitemap gives 22,090. They publish almost nothing to inflate, and they write down the limit themselves in "We cannot guarantee that listing your AI tool on Aitoolnet will result in sales or traffic."

The things to weigh: the refund you were promised is in a FAQ and not in the Terms, the Terms name a different payment processor than the form does, no company or person is named anywhere on the pages we read, and the free reciprocal-link route on /finish offers the same 24-hour publication that the $9.9 card sells. Try the free route first if a badge on your site is acceptable to you. If it isn't, $9.9 is not a bad price for what it is.
