Add .md to Any Forg URL and It Answers in Markdown.
Written by Submitator. Forg is one of the places we file customers to, so we have a reason to like it. Everything below is read off their live pages and their own robots.txt, and the method is in the footnote.
Forg calls itself a professional network for indie hackers, and the distinction matters more than it usually does. You are not filing a listing here; you are opening an account at forg.to/@you with a shipping streak, an immutable changelog and a Launchpad that runs every Monday. It is rated 43 by Ahrefs.
The thing worth knowing before you decide is not the Domain Rating. Take any project or profile URL and append .md. It returns structured markdown with YAML front matter, listing the website, category, platforms, product type, pricing, upvotes and maker. We tested five URLs and got markdown from all five.
Their robots.txt opens with a developer's note: it is "served as a static file to bypass Cloudflare's Managed Robots.txt which was prepending AI-crawler block rules", followed by a Content-Signal line reading search=yes, ai-train=yes, ai-input=yes. Most sites are working out how to keep AI crawlers out. This one routed around its own CDN to let them in.

Per forg.to, its home page, its /projects Launchpad page, its submission form, its robots.txt and its sitemap shards, all read on 10 September 2026. Domain Rating is Ahrefs' figure via submitator.com/domain-rating-checker, which returned 43. The link finding is a full census of what their sitemap exposes, not of the platform: sitemap shard 0 lists 41 project URLs, all 41 were fetched with zero errors at 85-96 KB, parsed rather than pattern-matched, and every outbound anchor classified by hostname. Of those, 30 carry a followed anchor to the product's own site, 6 carry rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" and 5 carry no outbound anchor at all; none carries a robots noindex. The split does not correlate with the destination host: one project pointing at a *.scybud.com subdomain is followed while five others on the same subdomain pattern are nofollowed, so we identify no rule and assert none. Their /projects Launchpad index is rendered in the browser and exposes no project data in its served HTML, so the total number of projects on the platform could not be enumerated and no claim is made about it; 41 is what the sitemap lists, not a catalog size. Sitemap shards 1 and 2 hold 45,000 and 10,794 company URLs, 55,794 in total, which matches the 55.8k figure written into their own robots.txt comments; the 11,682+ builders figure is their home page's claim, repeated as theirs. The Content-Signal line, the Cloudflare-bypass comment and the crawler allow-lists covering CCBot, anthropic-ai, cohere-ai and Bytespider are quoted from that robots.txt. The markdown endpoints were tested on four project URLs and one profile URL, all five of which returned markdown with YAML front matter; we did not test the whole set. Form fields, their required markers, the 500-character description limit, the eight platform options, the three-keyword cap, the four-screenshot cap and the 400x400 logo recommendation are read from the live submission form. Nothing behind the account was observed: no product was submitted and no Premium bought, so review, launch mechanics and Premium delivery are outside what we can report. How to submit to Forg, step by step

Start with the URL and let the autofill draft it
The first field takes your website and there is an Autofill with AI button underneath. As always, treat the result as a draft rather than a submission: it is reading your homepage, so a vague homepage produces a vague listing.

Write the tagline before the description, because only one is required
Product name and tagline are the required text fields; the description is optional and capped at 500 characters. That is unusual, and it tells you which one the site actually displays. Their placeholder is the model: one line that says what the thing is for.

Set price, because it is the required dropdown
Category, type and price sit together and only price carries the required marker. Pick the other two anyway, but know that the one they will not let you skip is the commercial one, which is what their filters are built on.

Tick every platform that genuinely applies
Eight options, including Chrome Extension and Firefox Extension as first-class entries alongside Web, iOS, Android, Mac, Windows and Linux. Extensions rarely get their own filter on a directory, so if that is what you built, this is a small pool worth being in.

Fill the optional GitHub and docs links
Their own note calls them optional and says they help visitors find your code, social and docs. On a platform whose entire premise is proof of work, a repository link is the strongest single thing you can add, and it costs one paste.

Add screenshots, since they say highly recommended
Up to four, 5MB each, and the logo wants 400 by 400 or larger with the same 5MB ceiling. These are generous limits by directory standards, so there is no reason to compress anything into ugliness here.

Then keep the profile, because that is the actual product
The listing is one page. The streak, the changelog and the Monday Launchpad are what the platform is built around, and all three reward coming back rather than filing once. Treat it as an account you maintain, not a form you completed.
What the census found, and what it could not
We fetched all 41 project pages their sitemap exposes. Thirty carry a followed link to the product's own site, six carry nofollow, and five carry no outbound link at all. Nothing is noindexed.
We then tried to work out what separates the thirty from the six, and could not. The obvious hypothesis was the destination: five of the six nofollowed projects point at subdomains of one host. But a sixth project pointing at the same host pattern is followed. So whatever the rule is, it is not the domain, and we would rather say we do not know than invent something tidier.
One more limit worth stating plainly: their Launchpad index is rendered in the browser and exposes no project data in the HTML it serves, so we could not count how many projects exist. Forty-one is what the sitemap lists. It is a floor, not a catalog size, and we are not going to present it as one.
Built to be read by machines
This is the part that makes Forg different from anything else in the catalog. Append .md to a project URL and you get markdown: a heading, a summary, and a YAML block carrying the website, category, platforms, product type, pricing, upvote count and maker. Do the same to a profile and you get username, location, website, premium status, builder score and streak.
That is a parseable version of your listing, published for anything that would rather read structure than scrape a page. Combined with a robots.txt that goes out of its way to admit AI crawlers, it is a coherent bet on being the source an assistant quotes rather than a page a person finds.
Their robots.txt is worth reading in full for another reason: it still carries the developer comments explaining the sitemap sharding, right down to the constant name and the count. That is unusual candour for a file most sites treat as a formality.
A profile, not a submission
Most of this catalog is places you file something once. Forg is not that. The parts it is built around, the verified builder profile, the shipping streak, the immutable changelog and the Monday Launchpad, all reward returning. Their cross-posting to X, LinkedIn and Bluesky is the same idea: write the update once, send it three places.
So the honest framing is that we can get the listing filed and the profile started. What happens on it afterwards is a habit rather than a task, and on this particular site the habit is the point.

The project index is rendered in the browser, so we could not count it and make no claim about it.
What does the Forg submission form ask for?
A website URL with an autofill button, then a product name and tagline, both required, a description up to 500 characters, and a category, type and price, of which price is required.
