Dofollow Backlinks: Which Sites Give Them and What One Costs
Dofollow backlinks are the links to your site that a search engine may count: links whose rel carries none of nofollow, ugc and sponsored. Of the 590 strongest referring domains of our six sites on 23 October 2026, Ahrefs recorded a dofollow link from 192, about one in three. Of the 398 that sent none, 262 sit on .store and .shop domains; set those 265 rows aside and 58% of the rest are followed. By source, directories we submit to sent one most often: 89 times in 135, against 100 times in 190 for every other site.
Search for dofollow backlink sites and page one hands you lists: hundreds of domains, a DA or DR beside each and the word dofollow in the title. This post starts from the other end, the links that real sites hold, sorted by source and by rating, then prices the followed link where a directory sells one outright. What the word dofollow means, rel by rel, is in the post that reads each rel value.
398 of our six sites' 590 strongest referring domains send no followed link, and 262 of those 398 are on .store and .shop domains. Directories we submit to follow most often of any source: 89 times in 135, against 100 in 190 for every other site off those two endings. Where a directory sells the followed link without its badge, the price on 4 November 2026 ran from $9 one-time at Wall of Tools to $500 a month at Launching Next, and EasyLaunch asked $15. Submitator files 30 directories for $29, chosen by you from the 189 we submit to, with every badge placed and kept live.
How many backlinks are dofollow? Our six sites, counted
The six are ours: Submitator, IndexMachine, ShareSpeak, AlterBase, AffyList and Solvitor. For each one we took the 100 referring domains Ahrefs rated highest on 23 October 2026, dropped the rows where one of our sites links another and kept the remaining 590, so a domain linking to three of them counts three times. 192 of those rows, 33%, carry at least one dofollow link. The other 398 carry none, and the split by source is far from even.
Dofollow backlinks among our six sites' strongest referring domains, by source
| Source | Referring domains | Dofollow link | Share followed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Directories and launch sites we submit to | 135 | 89 | 66% |
| Sites on .store and .shop domains | 265 | 3 | 1% |
| Every other site | 190 | 100 | 53% |
| All sources | 590 | 192 | 33% |
Base: for each of our six sites, the 100 live referring domains with the highest Domain Rating in Ahrefs on 23 October 2026, subdomains counted, minus the rows where one of our sites links another: 590 rows, a domain that links to several of our sites counted once for each. Followed: Ahrefs holds one dofollow link or more from that domain to that site. A directory we submit to is a domain that matches, host for host, a row of our 3 November 2026 catalog export that sits in one of its three category groups and carries no intercept flag (peerpush.com is read as PeerPush). The .store and .shop row takes every remaining domain with one of those two endings: 153 distinct domains in 265 rows, rated DR 18 to 61. Domain Rating by Ahrefs
Directories and launch sites we submit to are the source most likely to send a followed link: 89 of 135, two in three. Of those 89 followed links, 52 came from directories that ask for their badge on the listed site, required or optional, and where the badge is required the link was followed 41 times in 42.
At the other end sit 265 referring domains on .store and .shop. They are 153 distinct domains, 137 of them with seo, rank, link or serp in the name. Ahrefs rates them from DR 18 to DR 61, and three of their 265 rows carry a followed link. They take up room in a list of strongest referring domains, and Domain Rating counts followed links, so 262 of those rows add nothing to it. Everything else, from newsletters to tools to directories outside our list, lands in between at 53%. Each site's own rating and count are in our post that reads the six one by one, and where the strongest followed ones came from, kind by kind, in our post on where those links came from.
High quality dofollow backlinks: the rating is not the rel
Lists sell high authority dofollow backlinks and high DA dofollow backlinks, and both phrases lean on a score. Domain Authority is Moz's score and Domain Rating is Ahrefs'. Both describe the linking domain as a whole, while the rel is set on one anchor on one page, and no domain score looks at it. The same 590 referring domains, banded by DR:
High DR dofollow backlinks? Followed links by the linking site's rating
| Linking site | All sources | Directories we submit to | .store and .shop | Every other site |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DR 70 and up | 64 of 94 (68%) | 42 of 53 | - | 22 of 41 |
| DR 50 to 69 | 53 of 105 (50%) | 38 of 58 | 1 of 14 | 14 of 33 |
| DR 30 to 49 | 52 of 361 (14%) | 8 of 23 | 1 of 250 | 43 of 88 |
| Under DR 30 | 23 of 30 (77%) | 1 of 1 | 1 of 1 | 21 of 28 |
Each cell reads followed of all, for the same 590 referring domains and the same three sources as the table above, banded by the Domain Rating Ahrefs gave the linking domain on 23 October 2026; a dash marks a band with no row of that source. Every row under DR 30 links to AlterBase, the directory among our six; the strongest 100 of each of the other five stop at DR 31 or higher. Domain Rating by Ahrefs
Above DR 30, the higher the band, the more often the link is followed: 64 of 94 at DR 70 and up, 53 of 105 at DR 50 to 69 and 52 of 361 at DR 30 to 49, where 250 of the 361 rows are the .store and .shop domains. The 30 rows under DR 30 all link to AlterBase, the directory among our six, and 23 of them are followed. From DR 50 up the directories we submit to were followed more often than every other site: 42 of 53 against 22 of 41 at DR 70 and up, 38 of 58 against 14 of 33 at DR 50 to 69. A high quality dofollow backlink is a followed link, on a page that can be indexed, from a site people use; the rating comes after those, and how to read a Domain Rating is a question of its own.
Which websites have dofollow backlinks
The source decides the rel more than the rating does. A directory sets one rule for every listing, a platform sets one for every profile or comment and an editor decides one link at a time. By kind, with what we found for each:
Dofollow backlink sites by source: is the link followed?
| Source | Followed link? | What we found |
|---|---|---|
| Directories and launch sites | On most | 124 of the 189 we submit to are recorded dofollow, 39 of them with a badge rule; on our six sites they sent a followed link 89 times in 135 |
| Launch platforms: Product Hunt and Hacker News | Not for a new launch | On 17 of 17 Product Hunt pages the link to the maker's site carried ugc; Hacker News leaves a new story nofollow below about twenty points |
| Editorial links: articles, reviews and resource pages | When the writer leaves it plain | A writer decides each one, so no list can hold them; original data or a free tool gives a writer a reason |
| Profiles and comments | Rarely | GitHub marks a profile's website field nofollow; WordPress, by default, marks a commenter's link ugc, plus nofollow when it points to another site |
| Web 2.0 blogs and article platforms | The platform decides | Every link written in a Hashnode article body was ugc, across 72 articles; on DEV, 202 of 212 body links were followed |
| Guest posts | When the host leaves it plain | The host's editor sets the rel, link by link |
| Lists of “dofollow backlink sites” | A claim, not a source | Titles on page one sell DA, PA or DR; a score rates the domain, while the rel is set listing by listing and can hang on a badge or a fee |
Directories: the 189 rows of our 3 November 2026 catalog export that sit in a category group with no intercept flag; "recorded dofollow" is the link type our admin entered, the count our dofollow directories post starts from, and for 8 of those rows a count of live listings found no equity (that post lists them). Product Hunt and Hacker News: our guides, from 17 product pages (18 October 2026) and 178 external stories (15 September 2026). Hashnode: 72 articles on 8 blogs, 16 September 2026, where the followed anchors were the author card and the blog's own links; DEV: its 40 newest articles, 4 September 2026; both from our guides. GitHub's profile field: our free backlink sites post, 28 October 2026. WordPress: the reference page for get_comment_author_link, 4 November 2026. List titles: Google US results for dofollow backlink sites, 4 November 2026. Domain Rating by Ahrefs
Two of those rows are links people search for by name. Dofollow profile backlinks are scarce: the website field on GitHub, Gravatar and DEV profiles carried nofollow or ugc when we read them for our post on links that cost nothing. Dofollow comment backlinks run into the blog software: WordPress's own reference builds a commenter's name link with ugc by default, and adds nofollow and external when it points off the site.
Dofollow backlink lists, and why a list is not a count
The pages that rank for dofollow backlink sites are a Medium post that keeps growing, a Google Sites page with the year in the title, a slide deck of 450+ sites and long lists of web 2.0 and profile sites. Several titles advertise DA, PA or DR. A rating is a fact about a domain, though, and the rel is a fact about one link on one page, set by rules that move.
Three things move it. A badge: CurlShip's free card reads “Listed, nofollow. Add the badge to make it dofollow.” A fee: the cards in the price table below. And time: a directory that changes its template changes every new listing, which is why our evidence list of followed directories prints a dated count of live listings beside each row. So treat any list of dofollow backlinks, ours included, as leads to check against live pages. A dofollow backlinks website list of 450 domains is 450 checks you have not run yet.
Buy dofollow backlinks? What a directory charges for one
Some directories sell the followed link outright, and their own cards put a price on it. These five are directories we submit to, and every price was read on their pages on 4 November 2026.
Buy dofollow backlinks: what five directories charge for a followed link
| Directory | DR | Free route | What we file | The paid followed link | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wall of Toolswallof.tools | 42 | “Badge”: “Dofollow link”, “Add our badge” | Badge card, badge handled | “Dofollow”: “No badge needed” | $9 one-time |
| EasyLauncheasylaunch.dev | 62 | “Free · Join the line”: “Dofollow with badge” | Free card, badge handled | “Pick any day”: “Dofollow, no badge”, “Pinned 48h” | $15 once |
| CurlShipcurlship.com | 51 | “Listed, nofollow. Add the badge to make it dofollow.” | Free card, badge handled | Bronze Lifetime: “Exactly Bronze”; Bronze: “Dofollow, no badge needed.” | $30 once, or $1 a month, ex-VAT |
| SaaS.fyisaas.fyi | 31 | “Badge required on your site”; 230 of 230 listing links followed on our count | Free tier, badge handled | Premium: “Dofollow backlink to your site”, “No badge required” | $99 one-time |
| Launching Nextlaunchingnext.com | 56 | No badge; its 26 newest full listings followed on our count | Free route, no badge | Seed Boost: “DR 51 Dofollow Backlink” | $500 a month |
Prices and card wording from each directory's own page, read on 4 November 2026: wallof.tools and the script behind its tier picker; easylaunch.dev and the scripts behind its submission panel, whose free card that day offered its next open day on 8 November; curlship.com/pricing, whose prices are ex-VAT; saas.fyi/submit; launchingnext.com/promote/, whose dearer cards are $1,500 and $4,500 a month and each list the same backlink. Launching Next's page prints DR 51; the DR column comes from our catalog export of 3 November 2026. The two counts are our guides': SaaS.fyi's 115 listing pages on 11 October 2026, two direct links to the product on each, rel "noopener noreferrer" with no nofollow, sponsored or ugc on all 230, with no page recording which tier a listing came through; Launching Next's listings on 23 October 2026, where the 26 full listings published from 4 October 2026 on, each with an About section, were followed and the 21 from the same weeks without one were nofollow. Our founder is the source for the route we file on each: the free card with the badge placed through our component on Wall of Tools, EasyLaunch and CurlShip, SaaS.fyi's Free tier with its badge and Launching Next's free route. Domain Rating by Ahrefs
Read across, the cards price the badge. Wall of Tools, EasyLaunch and CurlShip say on the free card itself that their badge brings the followed link, so the fee buys that link with the badge left off your site: $9, $15 and $30. EasyLaunch's $15 card, “Pick any day”, adds a launch on the day you choose and 48 hours pinned. SaaS.fyi asks for its badge on the Free tier and puts “Dofollow backlink to your site” on its $99 Premium card, yet when our guide read all 115 of its listing pages on 11 October 2026, every link to a listed product was followed, 230 of 230. Launching Next asks no badge at all. Its 26 newest full listings, the ones with a description, were followed on our 23 October 2026 count, and every one of its promotions, from $500 a month, lists a “DR 51 Dofollow Backlink”.
On the four with a badge, the badge route is the one we file, and the badge becomes our job: it rides in the one component on your site, and keeping it live is on us, with no commit from you per directory, so the condition on the free card keeps holding. What Google's spam policies say about directory links is read line by line in our post on the directory line in that policy.
EasyLaunch: $15 for one listing without its badge. Submitator: $29 for 30 directories.
EasyLaunch sends a followed link to two of our six sites. Pick it and 29 more from the 189 we submit to; we file each one, write its description and keep every badge live. 60 for $49, 100 for $79, paid once.
Cheap dofollow backlinks and packs of 100
When a cheap offer to buy dofollow backlinks is a count, say 100 dofollow backlinks for one price, the count says nothing about which domains, what rel or which pages. Ask for the domains, open a few of their live pages, read the rel on the link and look up each rating with our free Domain Rating lookup. For our plans the answers sit in one table: the catalog lists every directory we submit to, with its Domain Rating, its link type and whether it asks for a badge.
How to find dofollow backlinks, and check each one
How to find backlink sites that pass a followed link: work from links that exist, not from lists.
- Pull the referring domains of two or three competitors from a backlink tool and keep the ones that send dofollow links. Ahrefs, the source of our own count, records that for every domain.
- Keep the sources you can act on. A directory or launch site takes an application; an article or a review needs its writer to choose you.
- Open three of each site's newest listings and read the link to the listed product. Its rel should hold none of nofollow, ugc and sponsored, and its address should lead to the product itself. How to check a link on the live page, step by step, is in our post on dofollow and nofollow.
- Look up the site's rating, then see how a listing will show your page: some directories build the listing from your title, description and image.
- Once your listing is live, read its link the same way, and make sure the listing page can be found: how a new listing page gets indexed has a post of its own.
How to get dofollow backlinks
Get them where a site's own rules hand them out. Directories and launch sites come first, because their newest listings tell you what yours will carry; then partners and integrations that list the products they work with; then editorial links, which follow original data or a free tool somebody wants to cite. Every way to earn a backlink, with what each costs, is compared in one post, and if your domain is new, a startup's first months of SEO puts the links in order with the rest of the work.
How to create dofollow backlinks yourself: the platform sets the rel
The links you can create yourself are profiles, comments, forum posts and web 2.0 blogs, and the platform that hosts each one sets the rel: nofollow on a GitHub profile, ugc and nofollow on a WordPress comment, ugc in a Hashnode article. DEV article bodies are the exception we measured, so the web 2.0 row above leaves the call to the platform. How to make dofollow backlinks, in practice, is to be listed or cited by a site whose template leaves the link plain, and to keep whatever it asks in return.
Dofollow backlinks for SEO: what a followed link does
A dofollow backlink is a link a search engine may count toward the page it points at, and it is the kind Ahrefs counts toward Domain Rating. A nofollow link can still send readers, but it is not the link a rating is built from, which is why a followed link from a site in your field is worth the work.
What a followed link does for one page depends on the site sending it, on the listing page being crawled and on the pages you compete with, so no one can sell you the effect. Count followed referring domains rather than links, keep the conditions that keep them followed and measure the pages you want to beat for the number.
Dofollow backlinks from directories, filed for you
Submitator works the source that came out ahead in our count. You tick directories in the dashboard, each with its Domain Rating on screen, from the 189 we submit to, and a directory joins that list once a submission to it has run from start to finish. Every directory then gets a description written for it, to its own limits, every form gets filled and the CAPTCHAs never reach you.
The badge directories ask one thing of your site, and it happens once: a single component carries the badge of each directory you picked that asks for one, EasyLaunch and Wall of Tools among them, and keeping every badge live is our job, with no commit from you for any directory. On every order we also push your new listing pages through IndexMachine, the free indexing ($25 value) that comes with Starter, Growth and Scale, and you set up nothing; whether Google indexes a page stays Google's call.
The timing is written down: most directories are delivered in 24 to 48 hours, every directory within 21 days at most. When a directory rejects your submission, the default is one more directory for you to pick, on every plan but All Directories, which holds the whole catalog already. And a refund can be requested within 30 days of purchase, on the conditions in our terms.
Paid once, the plans run $29 for 30 directories (Starter), $49 for 60 (Growth) and $79 for 100 (Scale); All Directories, at $149, takes the whole catalog and every directory that joins it later. EasyLaunch's $15 card buys one followed listing with no badge; our $29 files 30 directories you choose, EasyLaunch among them if you tick it, on its badge route with the badge in place.
Notes on the text. Every one of the six sites is ours (Submitator, IndexMachine, ShareSpeak, AlterBase, AffyList and Solvitor); AlterBase and AffyList also sit in our catalog as directories, and no row where one of the six links another is counted. The six-site figures are Ahrefs' for 23 October 2026: the 100 live referring domains it rated highest for each site, a row followed when Ahrefs holds a dofollow link from that domain, and each linking domain's DR as Ahrefs gave it that day. Directories we submit to were matched host for host, subdomains included, to the 189 category rows of our 3 November 2026 export (archived ones count like active ones), with peerpush.com read as PeerPush, since the catalog's peerpush.net redirects to it. The .store and .shop rows are read from each host's ending, and the seo, rank, link and serp count from each distinct name. This page makes no claim about how any of our six sites came by a link. Page one for dofollow backlink sites is Google US on 4 November 2026, and every badge and paid-card quote is from the directory's own page that day. Moz publishes Domain Authority and Ahrefs Domain Rating, two scores from two indexes. What Submitator does comes from our founder: a description written for each directory, CAPTCHAs handled on our side, one badge component with every badge kept live, the route we take on each directory in the price table, the rule that a directory enters the catalog once a submission to it has run end to end, and the push through IndexMachine on every order. Plans and the indexing bonus come from our pricing page; delivery, the rejection credit and refunds from our terms.
FAQ
Which websites have dofollow backlinks?
Sites whose own template leaves the link plain, directories and launch sites above all. Among the strongest referring domains of our six sites, directories we submit to sent a dofollow link 89 times in 135; every other site, 100 times in 190, leaving aside 265 rows on .store and .shop domains that sent three. Launch platforms and profile pages mostly do not: Product Hunt tags its link ugc, and GitHub marks a profile's website field nofollow.
How do you find dofollow backlink sites?
Start from links that already exist. A backlink tool lists the referring domains of a competitor and can narrow them to the ones sending dofollow links; keep the sites that take applications, such as directories and launch sites, then open three of each one's newest listings and check what the link to the listed product carries in its rel. A site whose newest listings link out plain is a find. A list with a DA score and nothing else is a lead.
Can you trust a dofollow backlink list?
As a set of leads, yes; as a count, no. A list states a site's rel once, while the site sets it listing by listing and can tie it to a badge, a fee or a rank: CurlShip's free listing stays nofollow until its badge goes up, and a new Hacker News story stays nofollow until it collects about twenty points. A DA or DR printed beside a row says nothing about the rel either, so open the newest live listings before you trust one.
Do dofollow backlinks help SEO?
They are the links a search engine may count toward the page they point at, and the ones Ahrefs counts toward Domain Rating; a nofollow link mostly brings visitors. How much one helps depends on the site sending it, on the listing page being crawled and on the pages you compete with, so nobody can promise a ranking or a DR from a batch of them. What you control is where they come from and keeping whatever condition each site sets.
Are high DR dofollow backlinks worth more?
When the link is followed, usually: Ahrefs weighs each followed link by the rating of the site sending it. A high rating does not make a link followed, though. Among our six sites' strongest referring domains, 30 of the 94 rated DR 70 and up sent no followed link at all. Read the rel first and the rating second.
What does a dofollow backlink cost?
Nothing on many directories, if their badge goes on your site, and a fee where a directory sells the link without it. On 4 November 2026 Wall of Tools asked $9 one-time, EasyLaunch $15 once, CurlShip $30 once, SaaS.fyi $99 one-time and Launching Next $500 a month, each for a followed link with no badge. Submitator files 30 directories for $29, paid once, with every badge placed and kept live.
What are the three types of backlinks?
There is no official list. A common split goes by how the link was earned: editorial links a writer chose to give, links you earn by listing or pitching a product and links you place yourself in profiles and comments. The rel cuts across all three. Of the sources in our six-site count, listings on directories we submit to sent a followed link most often: 89 times in 135.
