Free, Followed, and You Only Get One Go at It.
Written by Submitator. DesiFounder is one of the directories we file customers to, so we have a reason to like it. The link claim comes from a sample of their live Spotlight pages rather than their marketing, and the method is in the footnote.
DesiFounder is a founder community rather than a plain directory: a forum, an investor database, an events calendar, a hire-an-expert section, and Spotlight, its weekly product launch. Their counters read 2,600+ founders, 2,400+ launches and 120+ investors, and the sitemap carries 3,200 Spotlight projects.
Launching is free, permanently by their account, and the link you get is followed: we sampled 80 of those project pages and every one carries a single link to the product with the rel attribute empty. Extra links inside a description are nofollowed, which is exactly the hygiene you would want a directory to have.
You launch once per product, with a 30-day cooldown only after a significant update or redesign. And the page locks the moment it goes live on Monday: editable all week, frozen afterwards. Nothing else in the catalog punishes a rushed listing this cleanly, so this is the one to write before you open the form.

Per desifounder.com, its /spotlight page and Spotlight FAQ, its Add a Service form and its sitemaps, all read on 4 September 2026. Domain Rating is Ahrefs' figure via submitator.com/domain-rating-checker, which returned 20; no second provider was queried. The free-forever line, the beta premium-features line, the Monday release, the manual review, the one-launch rule with its 30-day cooldown, the content lock at launch and the excluded categories are quoted or paraphrased from their Spotlight FAQ; the 2,600+ founders, 2,400+ launches and 120+ investors are counters DesiFounder publishes on its own homepage, repeated here as their claims. Sitemap counts on the day: 3,200 Spotlight project URLs, 82 service listings, 135 funding entries, 1,856 forum threads and 35 articles, and the live page was headed Week 36. The link finding is a sample, not a census: we drew a seeded random sample of 80 Spotlight project URLs, fetched every one successfully at 36-45 KB, parsed the HTML rather than pattern-matching it, and classified each outbound anchor by hostname. Every page carried exactly one anchor to the listed product with no rel attribute, so it passes equity; 19 pages carried additional anchors to the same domain with nofollow, which appear to come from links inside the description. One of the 80 had no outbound link at all and was DesiFounder's own blog entry, which is why the product base is 79. None of the 80 carried a robots noindex. We did not check the other 3,120, and markup can change at any time. Nothing behind the login was observed: no submission was made, so approval rates and turnaround in practice are outside what we can report. Submitator files customers to DesiFounder. Our plans are $29 for 30 directories, $49 for 60 and $79 for 100, one-time, chosen by you in the dashboard with each Domain Rating shown, rejections credited back as +1 directory and a 30-day refund policy on the conditions in our terms.
How to launch on DesiFounder Spotlight, step by step
- 1
Write it before you open the form, because you get one attempt
Their rule is one launch per product unless you have shipped a significant update or redesign, and then only after 30 days. Combine that with the content lock at launch and the practical consequence is simple: the version you submit on Thursday is the version that is indexed forever. Draft the name, the one-liner and the description somewhere you can edit them properly first.
- 2
Create the free account
Submission sits behind a login, with email or Google. That is also what gets you into the forum, the investor database and the events, which is most of why being on this particular site is worth the trouble.
- 3
Pick your categories honestly
Listings carry one to three tags, and the mix on the live page runs from AI/ML and SaaS through Development Tools, Finance, Gaming and E-commerce. Founders browsing the Monday batch scan these, so a stretched tag buys you the wrong readers.
- 4
Aim the description at founders, not at customers
The audience here is other builders and a small pool of investors, and the benefits they advertise are early beta testers, feedback from fellow builders and a mention in community newsletters. So write what you built and what you want tested, rather than the marketing page you would put in front of a buyer.
- 5
Submit any day, then wait for Monday
Everything approved goes public in one weekly batch. There is no launch date to pick and no queue to skip, and their team screens each entry by hand for relevance and originality before it is added to the next lineup. You get an email or an in-platform notification when it is scheduled.
- 6
Use the week to fix things, because after that you cannot
Editing is open right up until the Spotlight goes live and closed forever after. Reread the tagline, check the URL resolves, confirm the logo is the current one. This is the single highest-value five minutes on this page.
- 7
If you sell services rather than build products, use the other door
Their Hire Experts directory is a separate, much longer form: logo at 500 by 500, provider name, a URL slug, country and timezone, what you are and your area of expertise, up to three additional services, delivery speed, years of experience, the startup stages and industries you have worked with, how you usually work with founders, a pricing range, an optional pro bono offer, an 800-character rich-text description, up to three named startups you have worked with, and a public contact email. It holds 82 listings, so it is far from crowded.
What the Monday batch is actually good for
A weekly release changes the shape of a launch. There is no advantage to submitting at 6am, no date to game and no paid queue skip, because everyone approved that week appears together. What you are competing for is attention inside one lineup, which is won by the tagline and the category rather than by timing.
It also means the audience arrives on purpose. People who open a Monday lineup are there to look at new products, which is a different visitor from someone landing on a directory page from a search. Their own list of benefits is honest about the size of it: beta testers, feedback, a newsletter mention, upvotes from early supporters. Nobody is promising you a traffic spike.
Free now, and they told you why
Two sentences from their FAQ are worth putting side by side. "Launching your product on Spotlight is always free." And: "During our beta phase, we also provide all premium features of Spotlight without any additional charges or subscriptions."
So the launch is free permanently, and the premium layer is free for now. That is a fair thing to say out loud rather than to bury, and it is a mild argument for going in while the beta is on. At DR 20 the link is a volume entry rather than a headline one, and the community access is the part that is unusual for a free listing.
The link, and the detail we liked
Every Spotlight page we sampled links to the product once, with a bare rel, so the link is followed. What is more interesting is the pages that carry extra links: on nineteen of the eighty there were further anchors to the same domain, and those were nofollowed.
That is a directory drawing a line in the right place. Your listing earns you one followed link, and links a founder scatters through their own description do not multiply it. It is a small thing, and it is the kind of small thing that suggests someone is paying attention to how the site ages.

DesiFounder review: the short answer
Launch, and prepare first. Free, human-screened, a followed link and a founder audience is a good deal at any Domain Rating, and there is nothing here asking for a badge, a subscription or a link out of your footer.
The only trap is treating it like a form you can fix later. One launch per product, locked at release. Write the listing properly on a Thursday and it is one of the easier entries in the whole catalog.
Free, human-reviewed, and locked on Monday.
DesiFounder Spotlight launches every Monday in one batch, costs nothing, asks for no badge, and gives a dofollow link on all 79 real products we sampled. It is DR 20, so judge it on the founder audience rather than the number. You launch once per product and the page locks when it goes live. The whole catalog.
FAQ
Is DesiFounder free to submit to?
Yes, and they put it strongly: “launching your product on Spotlight is always free.” They add that during their beta phase all premium Spotlight features come with no additional charges or subscriptions, which is worth noting for what it implies about later, but today there is nothing to pay and no badge to install.
Does DesiFounder give a dofollow link?
Yes. We sampled 80 of the 3,200 Spotlight projects in their sitemap and fetched every one. Each carries exactly one link to the product with the rel attribute empty, so it passes equity. The only page without an outbound link was DesiFounder's own blog entry, so that is 79 of 79 real products. None were noindexed.
When do DesiFounder launches go live?
Mondays. You can submit any time during the week, but approved entries all go public in one batch: their words are that approved entries are launched publicly every Monday and are included in the next Monday's lineup. The site is currently on week 36 of that cycle.
How many times can you launch on DesiFounder?
Once per product, effectively. Their rule is that you can only launch the same product once, to avoid spam and repetition, unless there has been a significant update or major redesign, in which case you can reapply after a 30-day cooldown. So this is not a directory to test a rough listing on.
Can you edit a DesiFounder listing after it goes live?
No. You can edit any time before the Monday release, and once it launches the entry becomes publicly visible, indexed and open for upvotes, at which point their FAQ says the content is locked and can no longer be changed. Proofread before the weekend, not after.
Does DesiFounder review submissions?
Every one, by hand. They say all Spotlight submissions go through a manual review by the DesiFounder team, checking relevance, originality and alignment with community standards. They exclude illegal, NSFW, adult, scammy, MLM and non-relevant promotions.
What is DesiFounder's Domain Rating?
20 on Ahrefs. That makes the link a volume entry rather than a headline one, and the audience is the better reason to be here: their own counters read 2,600+ founders, 2,400+ launches and 120+ investors.
What else can you list on DesiFounder besides a product?
A service. Separately from Spotlight they run a Hire Experts directory with its own longer form, currently holding 82 provider listings. It asks what you are, your area of expertise, years of experience, delivery speed, the startup stages and industries you have worked with, how you usually work with founders, a pricing range and an optional pro bono offer. If you sell to founders rather than build for them, that is your door.
Is DesiFounder worth submitting to?
Yes, and we file customers there. Free, screened by a person, a followed link, and an audience of founders and investors rather than general traffic. Treat the Monday cycle and the one-launch rule as the cost: it is five minutes of preparation rather than five minutes of typing.
More submit-to guides.
DesiFounder is free. The other twenty-nine cost $29, together.
One payment, each directory named with its Domain Rating on the card before you choose it, badges installed and kept live where one is wanted, and a rejection swapped for another directory.
