The Launch Llama Alternative: Pick Your 100, From $29

Manually, says the hero. Automatically, says the next section.

The service's hero line is "We manually submit your tool to top directories across the web." One section below, its own distribution panel says "Launch Llama automatically submits your startup to 200+ launch platforms and startup directories," over a counter labelled "auto-submitting." The page's own meta description says "Automated submissions," and the FAQ settles it: "Do you use automation for submissions?" answer, verbatim: "Yes! We use smart automation combined with human review." There's nothing wrong with automation (Submitator is real browser automation and says so on the tin; that's why 100 directories cost $79 and land in a day or two). What you can't do is sell "we manually submit" and "automatically submits" on the same page, and a page that does leaves you guessing which sentence describes your order.

Save up to 50%, on discounts that top out at 34%

The sales page shows every tier struck through: $149 becomes $99, $199 becomes $149, $249 becomes $199, each with a "$50 OFF" tag, under "Limited-time prices — save up to 50%." Do the arithmetic and the discounts are 34%, 25% and 20%; no tier on the page saves 50%, and no deadline is given for the limited time. So compare at face value: their cheapest package is $99 for 30 directories, $20 more than Submitator's $79 for 100. Tier for tier it's $29 against $99 for 30, $49 against $149 for 60 and $79 against $199 for 100, under a third of their price at 30 and 60 directories and two fifths at 100. One more line item worth decoding: every tier bundles a "DA 73 Launch Llama listing." The listing is free anyway (a free Launch Llama listing is the stated prerequisite for buying), so the most specific line on the card is the one you could have had for nothing.

A "complete list" you can't find

Which directories do $99 to $199 buy? The page never says. The spec is a count ("30 directories," "60 directories," "100+ directories"), an animation that flashes Product Hunt, Crunchbase, G2 and Hacker News under "auto-submitting" and an FAQ that answers "Can I view the full list of directories where my SaaS will be submitted?" with "Yes! The complete list is available on our homepage." The homepage has no such list; the nearest thing is a pop-up offering a "100+ directory list" in exchange for your email. The FAQ also promises "all 140+ directory submissions within 48 hours," numbers that match no tier and no other timeline on a page that can't settle on a count either: 100+ in the headline, 140+ in the FAQ, 200+ in the distribution section, 218 in its animation. Badges are never mentioned, which writes off the badge-gated tier of free dofollow listings (Startup Fame, DR 83, Twelve Tools, DR 81, Turbo0, DR 79), and on dofollow the page promises "real dofollow backlinks" in its meta description and "where possible" in its FAQ. Submitator's catalog is the opposite of a mystery: 100+ named directories, each with its DR next to it, and you pick every one of your 30 to 100 in the dashboard.

"We don't provide a list of approved submissions"

That's their FAQ, verbatim, and it is still there. The proof story around it has grown without firming up: Starter now lists a "Detailed report," Premium a "Completion summary report," another answer promises "a Google Sheet, including detailed reports and verification screenshots" and "How will I know my submissions went live?" gets "Premium includes a completion summary report. You can also track new referring domains in Ahrefs, Semrush, or Google Search Console." Three answers to one question on one page, and the plainest of them is no. Fair credit where due: it creates a dedicated email for your submissions and hands over the credentials with the final report, so you own most of the accounts (Google-sign-in directories stay under theirs). Submitator's approach is structural instead: a live dashboard that shows each listing with a live link as it completes, and a +1 credit for every directory that rejects you.

"Verified growth," three of five cards from the operator

The results panel, headed "Verified growth" and footnoted "Domain Rating and backlink data sourced from Ahrefs Site Explorer," shows five before/after domains. Three belong to the operator himself: The Stack (a newsletter he co-writes) plus Speak Tech English and Mockly English (products he runs). The headline "Founders gain +27 DR on average" is the average of those same five cards. A fourth, Folkscope, is shown climbing from "May 2": folkscope.com was registered on June 11, 2026 (per whois), the code behind the card dates the climb from 2025-05-02 and Ahrefs puts the domain at DR 1 today against the card's 19. The testimonials don't hold still either: on the service page @arjunm__ says "DR hit 24 six weeks after," and on the Success Stories page the same handle says "Six weeks later Ahrefs showed DR 38." The hero's "from 70 reviews" links to no source. None of this makes the newsletter fake; it makes the service's evidence self-referential, and worth reading with that in mind.

A guarantee, provided "as is"

The page headlines a "Guaranteed DR increase" and, under the pricing cards, a "30-Day Money-Back Guarantee · no questions asked." The FAQ narrows it to "If your Domain Rating hasn’t moved within 30 days of purchase, contact us for a full refund." The site's pricing FAQ then answers "Do you offer refunds on Featured plans or add-ons?" with "No," and adds that "directory backlink packages are also non-refundable once scheduled or fulfilled." The Terms have no refund clause at all, provide the directory "as is" without warranties, disclaim guarantees of "Specific traffic or visibility for your product" and name no legal entity and no governing law. A guarantee that one page grants and another withdraws is a headline, not a promise. To be fair, the service's own FAQ has moments of real candor: approvals can take "days, weeks, or even months," and the service is "best suited for websites with a DR below 10." Submitator skips the choreography: a 30-day money-back refund, rejections credited +1, and the outcome stats we publish are on this page, sources attached.

When Launch Llama might fit

To be fair: Launch Llama is a real ecosystem run by a named founder, the newsletter and free tools directory genuinely operate, the root domain's DR 73 checks out on FrogDR, prices are genuinely one-time with no countdown clocks or spots-left theater, and handing over the dedicated-email credentials is better practice than some rivals manage. If what you want is a push that sits close to that newsletter ecosystem, from one identifiable builder, and a directory count is enough specification for you, it may serve.
